Gambit Parts 1&2 - BORING
I always thought I was alone in my dislike for "The Inner Light"
I'm doing a full TNG-rewatch right now and so far I haven't skipped an episode. I even watched Code of Honor so I suppose it can't get worse.
Oh yes it does, or maybe you've forgotten "The Inner Light".
Seriously, I'm still waiting on somebody to tell me what's so bad about "Code of Honor". It never bothered me. Of course, I hate "The Inner Light", which seems to be a fan favorite, so what do I know?
As for skipping episodes, I never do. Not even my last favorite "Inner Light".
I totally forgot to mention the obvious choice. Shades of Gray. What a terrible episode. I guess I just don't count it as a "real" TNG episode.
Having said that: We still watched it last night as part of our TNG re-watch but uh... let's just say we were focused on other things...
Let's all agree never to watch 'Shades of Grayclipshow' again, ever.

Both are pretty poor episodes. But I'd rather watch "Code of Honor". "The Inner Light" is just plain dull.

"Shades of Gray" is downright awesome when compared to episodes like "Imaginary Friend" and "Sub Rosa".
Shades of Gray is the popular answer for worst episode just like Spock's Brain is, but both shows have episodes that are far far worse.

- Poorly written. Just terrible. Imagine that one line from "Datalore" about beaming out a tree, stretched to an entire episode.
- Awful direction.
- Poorly plotted.
- Poorly concieved.
- Horrible acting. Not Godawful, but at a certain point it doesn't really matter -- you're only delineating between different steaming piles of monkey crap.
- And a weak and forgettable score by one time TNG composer, and famous TOS composer, the late Fred Steiner. What a fucking waste of a talented composer.
