Episode IX Speculation and Discussion

Since people are starting to see the movie, I just want to post a reminder that this is the spoiler free thread, and we do have spoiler thread going now, so if you want to discuss specific plot points, please do it there. Obviously nothing has happened in this thread, but there have been a few times recently where people posted spoilers in non-spoiler threads, so I wanted to hopefully remind everyone before someone slips.

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook...

My wife just got back from ep 9, according to her and her friend It's the worst saga movie after ep 8, my neigbor said the same things after he went on opening night so I skip the movie for sure.

People calling it the worst movie in the entire saga are being hyperbolic. It's a mess but it's a watchable mess, and it has a lot of great individual moments and some solid acting.
Why does it have to be hyperbole? One of the movies has to be the worst one, and maybe the people saying that genuinely believe it. We all gots diff'rent tastes. :)

Why? The other movies alsof have great moments so who are you to call me hyperbolic If I don't like the sequel trilogy?

All of the Star Wars movies are deeply flawed and there’s a solid case to be made for any one of them being the worst.
Personal story time: When I was still convinced that SW was the greatest film ever I discovered a website called "Movie Mistakes" and the SW films had the most mistakes. So, I started researching how they were made. And discovered that the films are not perfect but I still thoroughly enjoyed them.

Nothing like the first time you find the cracks in something you love.

I've had a couple of friends who have discussed this at length, and one of their suppositions, that I agree with, is seeing the cracks and still loving it is a more mature love of that thing.

I think that is good advice for everything in life.

Like sometimes I am afraid that people find out that I am not perfect but love/like me how I am. ;)
