I watched the originals for the first time when I was like 8 or 9, and I still remember that goof as this amazingly hilarious revelation when a teenage neighbour told me about it a few months after that first viewing. I don't think I'd even developed the idea that movies could have mistakes. I guess it's one of those things that changed a lot after the internet really kicked off.

I do love how in the DVD they added an actual thud when he hits his head, and then another stormtrooper says for someone to go check on him.

I don't think so, at least not if my memory serves correctly. If it was, it was just sound from the actual hit, and not effects. But, it's more distinct now than what I remember.

I do agree I think they brought it up in the mix a bit. But I think the “see to him” was always there. When I get a chance I’ll look at my DVD of the unaltered movie.

Maybe I just never noticed it before the DVD then. That was the first time I remember hearing it.

Yeah, the "see to him" line was in reference to the officer that Chewie clocked when they stormed the room.
