Rey was not born until 11 years after the destruction of the Second Death Star and. 10 years after the Imperial remnant who founded the First Order had ensconced themselves in the Unknown Regions.

I agree with the basic idea here, it feels like false advertising since they usually use it to imply that something that doesn't actually happen will happen.I really, really, really, really hate it when they put "visions" footage in trailers.
She grew up using a staff to defend herself on Jakku, it makes sense she would use a saberstaff. But why is a double lightsaber in her vision?
She's suffering from double-vision?But why is a double lightsaber in her vision?
People speculating about Rey being a clone are not correct in said speculation, as you cannot clone a Force-sensitive person in current SW Canon.
I am confused about how either Death Star would have enough structure to crash into a body. IIRC, both were consumed by massive explosions, leaving nothing behind except debris, which would not be as big as shown in the trailer.
#moviemagicI have always thought this too. The previous image where they are looking at what appears to be a bit of the dish section looks too intact and also not big enough.

Well, it's a trailer. The point isn't to tell the movie's story, it's to generate interest in it. Indeed, there's been a few instances over the past few years where trailers have utterly spoilt the movies they were for, so given that as the alternative I'd take a misleading trailer any day.I agree with the basic idea here, it feels like false advertising since they usually use it to imply that something that doesn't actually happen will happen.

Would you care to share where canon suggests this? Looking at the canon Wookiepedia page for cloning, there’s no mention of "Force" at all outside of titles in references.
Except that's not false advertising. It's a bunch of clips out of context to generate interest. Just look at Rogue One and all that. Did the trailers diminish enjoyment of Rogue One?I think you mean TROS.

Or The Last Jedi which also implied that Rey might go to the Dark Side but ultimately didn't. The moment is deliberately presented to provoke fans with a misleading image. And I love it for that quality.Except that's not false advertising. It's a bunch of clips out of context to generate interest. Just look at Rogue One and all that. The source is a Tweet from Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo.
He stated that you cannot transfer Midichlorians through a blood transfusion, that no stories exploring the idea of trying to clone a Force-sensitive person have been proposed, and that he does not see a way that such a story would work within the boundaries of what has been established in the Canon to date about the Force and how Force Sensitivity works.
When you add those statements up, they equal a declaration that cloning a Force-sensitive person is not possible within the boundaries and established lore of current Star Wars Canon.
