Episode IX Speculation and Discussion

@Campe98 All the dead Jedi return as Force ghosts to try to defeat the Sith maybe once and for all? In a twist like Return of the King?

That bothered me in the title the Return of the Jedi in way that it SHOULD have been bigger than Luke and it almost was by Lucas's rough draft in 1981. The Jedi have a passive Revenge :)
I still liked Revenge of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith as titles.

@fireproof78 as I said in the Phantom Menace thread. I love that you agreed with my view though. Qui-Gon should have had a bigger role and influence on the prequel trilogy and the sequel trilogy. Can you imagine if Qui-Gon told Luke the truth of what happened with Anakin and the events that happened? No wonder Luke would be hurt and withdrawn from everything and everyone. It would explain things in TLJ.

In Mel Brooks voice, "No more Death Stars damn it"

2 and half was enough. I'm good with visiting the hulk remains of one.

The superweapon is so played out its beyond cliche. To quote Vader, "Its insignificant next to the power of the Force". Return of the Jedi would been better with Had Abbadon and no Death Star. It went from Had Abbadon and two Death Stars, to just Had Abbadon and no Death Stars, then a DOUBLE sized Death Star that works :)

Like the original idea in Return of the Jedi this should be just a conflict of the ages with no stupid superweapon in the background. One Death Star was cool. The rest is a retread and a joke. Right?

Let’s be fair...the second Death Star was just bait in that story. Which works.

I just wonder from time to time.. When TFA was being written.. did they have an actuall plan for the trilogy??
That Part 1, First order, from the depths of the unknown lands, comes out of hiding to try to take over the galaxy..
Okay.. whats Part 2 and 3?
The part 2 we got was.. Most republic forces were destroyed by starkiller base, and the resistance is shattered, and pretty much, first order has won! they have the most ships and toys.. and the capital is toasted.. so.. now what?
Part 3, the group goes in to hiding and wait for the next generation.. :guffaw:

If I remember right, The Rise of Skywalker is supposed to take place a few years after TLJ, during which time the Resistance was regrouping and building its strength.

Also, the one theory I will allow myself to indulge in is that Skywalker will become a title used by Rey and a new generation of force-wielders as they reject the teachings of both the Jedi and Sith, and build something new.

Palpatine returning is not a new idea. It was done or toyed with at least three times in the novels and comics. Dark Empire being the actual one, via cloning and dark side of the Force powers to move his soul from one body to another (keeping himself from going to the Force by will and the dark side, rather than the Jedi's method of passing over to the Force and retaining one's personality). Also two different sets of novels had plot lines with rumors of the Emperor's return or even a fake Palpatine propped up to try to put the other Moffs in line.

The fact that this supposed leak says that Han Solo appears as a Force Gost immediately marks it as BS.

Parts of it match up with things that Jason Ward of Making Star Wars has reported on, but the "Han Solo Force Ghost" thing just shatters the illusion.

I should note that there are things that Jason Ward has shared that indicate the possibility of an appearance by Han, but it's the specific reference here to that character being a Force Ghost that damns this particular leak.

Yeah, it almost sounded a little bit possible, but the part you mention in your spoiler pretty much destroys that.
