Episode Eight Pre-Release Thread

I don't know, he specifically refers to the princess hiding who she is, and I don't think Leia has ever hidden the fact that she's a princess. As far as we know Rey isn't either, but fits Rey more than it would Leia.

Leia hiding her family, her force sensitivity

Do we know if she did that in the new canon? She didn't hide it in the Legacy EU.

OK, I still haven't read many of the new canon books, so I wasn't sure if that had been addressed.

Sorry I'm not able to keep up.

There is no reason for you to be sorry, it was merely an observation on my behalf and I tend to forget that not everyone is willing to research the most basic of questions.

So, in a recent interview with GQ, Adam Driver was referencing Rey and:

... called her a princes... So now speculation is going nuts again on who her parents might be... Some long lost King/Queen who were on the run and deposited her on Jakku for safekeeping? Is she related to Leia in some way? Part of the Amidala family on Naboo? Could she be another child of Senator and Mrs. Organa (thus making her a princess of Alderaan? (would the timing even work with that? If so, was she off-world when Alderaan was destroyed and the secreted away to Jakku to protect her from the Empire?)

Here is the full context

https://sleemo.tumblr.com/post/167015807602/adam-driver-was-talking-about-the-princess-in-the

He was comparing Kylo and Princess Yuki Akizuki from 'The Hidden Fortress'

Even if Adam was referring to Rey, she's not a Solo; that bubble was burst well over 2 years ago now, so all this quote would tell us is that she's royalty of some kind.

Also, she wouldn't be a Princess even if she were from Naboo and/or related to the Naberries because the Nubian monarchy is ELECTIVE, not HEREDITARY.

Leia was a Princess because she was adopted into the hereditary monarchal society of Alderaaan, not because her birth mother was a former Queen of Naboo.

It just now occurs to me that this will be the first time we've seen Luke in the Falcon's cockpit since half-way through ANH. He never set foot aboard during tESB or RotJ and after they escaped the Death Star his only scenes were in the cargo hold and the gunnery chair. Not sure why but it feels a little weird that I never noticed this till now.

I think he is referring to Leia, not Rey

Also Japan's TLJ poster

Cool, but too much red, IMO.

It's common to treat a BBS thread as more of a casual conversation, not some kind of academic treatise. In daily conversation, people are more likely to ask somebody a question about something instead of going and consulting some reference materials to find the answer.

Also the Falcon loses its Dish again, a TIE Fighter blasts it off in the crystal cave sequence lmao

I didn't know that and thank you for informing me.
