Yes, it's considered bad form to bump threads more than a year old, much less 8 years. If the topic interests you, it's better to just make a new topic about it.
The main reason for this is because the members who originally created and then added to this 8 year old topic are most likely long gone from this site, so if one was trying to respond to them, it most likely won't happen.
Got cha covered!Perhaps if I knew how to use the multi-quote feature. I can turn them yellow.. I don't know what to do after that.
IMMEDIATELY UNDER that last post on the far left side of the page (and 'before' you reach the Quick Reply box/window).... you will see:

Click 'POST REPLY' and you're there!
I'd actually prefer bumping old ones to starting new ones
I mean if someone has something to add, why create a new?
I can't stand boards where they would rather you bump a thread 3 years old because a topic has already been discussed.
the discussion is over. We discuss things multiple times in real life, so why the crime on doing it on a board?
Poor Reg though. 33 years later and he's only been promoted from Lieutenant to Commander.asp7485 said:
Most everyone, even the characters that were largely overlooked in the series run, gets their moment in the finale.
Just like Geordi in Picard's future writes novels too, even though he never showed any inclination to that on the show. You're absolutely right. But we saw what happened to them under a defined set of circumstances and now we know that particular outcome. We don't need to know explicitly what happens in their futures, but the glimpses we get of it, gives an idea of what can happen, and in this case, what's probably likely to happen when we think what might have been.exodus said:
Any number of things could happen during the time they return home to the possable future we saw.
Maybe instead of a holonovelist, Tom does it as a hobby while really working on new starship designs or teaching piloting techniques. I don't think the specifics of it are important, but it gives you an idea of what kind of person he could become.
It's a lot easier to fit a bunch of people's ideas of what happens when they get home if it's never really set in stone.
Seems this thread has wandered off topic into a discussion about thread protocol...
I do not mind an older thread as long as the topic is interesting- I have not been here for as long as most so it is new to me somewhat.
I liked parts of Endgame but some things bothered me. If they had Tuvok exhibiting some symptoms for a couple of episodes foreshadowing his illness it would have been better. To have it suddenly be so big an issue was jarring and for somebody who was not entirely in the grip of his facilities the medical quarters he was in seemed full of dangerous objects. Reg should have either been promoted more of be a civilian researcher IMO.
On the plus side, Tom becoming a writer is not too different than Geordi becoming one in AGT- never saw that one coming either. Nice to see Kim with his own ship, he seemed to fit the role better in the future than in Nightingale.
C/7 horror aside, I loved "Endgame"
C/7 made no sense at all. They had no chemistry and had no build up towards a relationship during those four years. Just thrown together last minute.
