Elisabeth Sladen Still Got It.

I must say that after nearly 40 years Elisabeth Sladen has aged remarkably well and looks a lot better than Anne Robinson, for example. And when she was made up to be very elderly, instead of being late middle-aged in SJA, it didn't seem very convincing. How does she do it?

She's absolutely gorgeous. I think she must count as one of my earliest crushes as a child (probably before I even had a concept of what that meant) and she's still fantastic now.

As for how she obviously bathes in the blood of virgins Some people just age really well and she's one of em! If she's had work done it isn't obvious.

She probably just takes care of herself (no smoking, drinking, eating right, etc.). Just living reasonably healthy will do a lot for a person's looks.

Although I don't know anything about her so who knows? Maybe she's a binge drinker, chain smoker and junk food addict. If that's the case, then yes, there's probably virgin blood involved.

I have to agree whole-heartedly, and count me in among those who had Lis as a first crush...

I would also summise that she's taken good care of herself (if she was a chain smoker she'd have an upper lip like Harriet Walter who plays the DI on Law and Order UK) and continues to do so.

Well that's more obvious with Anne Robinson: she's more machine now than human, twisted and evil.

And I agree that clean living helps with the aging process, by taxing the regeneration of cells less, so a clean living person at the age of 38 is going to look much more similar to when he/she was 18 in contrast to somebody living Alex Higgins style.

Well, sharing the lead with Who, FWIW.

I'm no fan of SJA, but I tracked down the eps that had the Dr in them. Katy hasn't aged well, the surgery shows. Lis OTOH, looking good! (and she's closer to may age!). Matt Smith was very good in SJA, plus I really liked all the flashback stuff with Pertwee etc. I wonder what all the young 'uns make of all that stuff?
