Spoilers Easter Eggs/Call Backs - All Episodes

Anyone else see the connection to the Q. First they mention that only a 4 dimensional civilisation could have made the time crystals. Secondly Mudd says “mon capitan”.
Also when Mudd would wave his hand and make characters transport away was like Q.

Mudd should not be Q, Maybe he got lucky or bribed enough people to find the crystal?
On the other hand, maybe Q arranged to have him find the crystal and weave some chaos? Imbuing a gesture or two to boot??

^^^ True, but I, too, noticed that his "hand waving" at the time of transport is a gesture that almost perfectly imitates how Q would make someone disappear. "Mon capitan" is arguably another thing that seemed to be uniquely Q in speech pattern.

The one thing I disagree with is the time crystal itself being a Q creation. Akin to the "What does God need with a starship?" question, I paraphrase: "What does Q need with a time crystal?" Based on the events that occurred in AGT, Q has proven to be able to move himself and others through time as easily as we move through air. True, Q might have one of these crystals in his pocket at all times, but he seems much more powerful than that in general - far too powerful to hang on to something that exists in the mundane world like some crystal inside a super-large bracelet that looks like it should be worn by a Predator. I don't think a Q needs a focus of any kind to manipulate time. Now it may be a super-ancient device invented by the Q during a time when they were still more like us - a tool that they once used to acquire an awareness of the nature and mechanics of time - to learn not how to mess it up and cause those pesky paradoxes, as a part of their ascension process. That I could buy.

Either way, I doubt we'll see anything else like that in the show. It was a convenient plot device for this series to do its own reenactment of "Cause and Effect".

I guess we need to ask that question, then...

Did the big crystal inside the space fish also turn to dust when the time ran out? That is, should we never see this again, or should we in fact indeed see it addressed, perhaps in the very next episode?

Was the shape of Mudd's unseen ship an egg? Of the Easter sort, I mean? I haven't rewatched yet, but I remember an outline vaguely like the ubiquitous multifaceted "alien shuttle" from TNG...

Did anyone research "time crystal" on wikipedia? This actually exists... I was surprised when I read about this...

Implicitly both crystals must be unusable.
Q does not need those crystals but might place them to be found. Alternately q made some when he was learning to use his powers, and Q retained them?

For reference, here are two maps:

Here is the map from the ready room.

Here is the portion of the map from yesterday's episode.

The "blob" under the Starfleet Command emblem is labeled "Briar Patch" in the Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library. Until recently, it was in area within the Beta Quadrant. Now, it resides in the Alpha Quadrant.

With the movement of the border, a portion of the Klingon Empire, which had nested comfortably in the BQ, was moved to the AQ. This portion would have included Sherman's Planet and Deep Space K-7, which were "under" the Briar Patch. Another thing I noticed is that the Klingon Empire is larger in this map. We should be seeing the Romulan Star Empire in the top right corner, about half-way up the Starfleet Command emblem, where the upper indentation is.

In the second picture, there has been a shuffling of the positions. Deep Space K-7 has been moved to a location nearer to the Mempa sector. The Klingon locations have been moved up to positions once held by Beta Thoridar, H'atoria, and the Azure Nebula, Khitomer is now north of Mempa, not to the "northwest". Morska system is now to the right of Rura Penthe, between RP and Mempa, when it was to the left of RP in the books. Some locations are missing from the map: Starbase 234, Epsilon 9, Barolia, and the aforementioned locations which were moved out. For those who have the Star Charts, the pages showing the Klingon Empire are on 62-63.

For the Corvan system, the Benzite system, and the Ophiucus system, we saw system maps showing their suns and orbital paths of planets. It looks like the planets were labeled.
IDK - the 'border' as you call it is probably more an indication of where the front lines of the war are atm - with BOTH sides advancing in each others territory. The war is ongoing, and I'm sure borders will be renegotiated at the end of it.
