Well, it sorta started 3 days ago with Sony's announcements and when i post this EA is doing it press conference... Hype? Hopes and dreams?
I died a little inside seeing that C&C is coming back as a trivial mobile game. It probably will be fun, but it just makes me miss what the series was before EA butchered it with 4. Edit:reworded a bit
Well that was horrible. Fortunately EA went first, so everyone is going to look good compared to that.
Is it just me or does the new SW game announcement sound a lot like the premise behind the Force Unleashed games? The fact that they very likely cancelled the Amy Hennig SW game likely for this? It doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence.
EA's show was one of the worst in E3 history, it was beyond dire and publishers should rethink if they even need their own shows during E3. XBox was great for gamers in general because they were totally focused on nothing but games. I wasn't that bothered by most of the games they did show tbf so it did little for me on a personal level. I'm here for Last of Us Part II at Sony's show tomorrow.
I was impressed with Microsoft's presentation. They (finally) seem to have figured out what has made Sony so successful this gen: that they need to focus on the games! As a PS4 owner, they gave me no reason to buy an Xbox One right now, since 90% of what they showed is multi-platform. But they are setting themselves up nicely for the next generation. And it's a guarantee their next console will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One, so any games I've missed I will be able to catch up on later.
Sony's conference lacked variety and the games shown -- although they look great -- aren't my cup of tea. Resident Evil 2 looked interesting, but that was the only game shown that caught my attention. I'm happy to see that Nioh has a sequel in development, but it was just a teaser.
I'm OK with slower, more atmospheric games but I can see where others might be disappointed. Death Stranding will probably be a mess but It looks to be an interesting mess. It doesn't even bother me that all we've seen so far seems to amount to a walking simulator.
WHAT?! BATTLETOADS IS GETTING A NEW GAME! I loved and hated playing battletoads on the original NES. One of the hardest games to play from memory.
I was a surprised that the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer left me a bit cold. Is it Deus Ex? GTA? There were some pretty visuals, but I'm still unsure what the game is. I guess I'm just missing a hook that makes me really interested in whatever this game is.
Impressed with Nintendo's conference so far. So hyped for Smash. Ridley is in! And Sonic and Pac-Man are back.
