Star Trek: New Frontier: No Limits (short story collection) $1.99

Star Trek: Titan #4: Sword of Damocles - $1.99

Appears the Star Trek V novelization is on sale as well.

I don't have any of those showing in Canada yet, but here they've added another $1.99 book:

Destiny #3: Lost Souls

This is the slowest, weirdest rollout of the monthly sales I've seen in a while. I wonder if Amazon Canada is just slow because of the holiday here today, or if S&S is no longer keeping the monthly sales for Canada and the US the same? Are the ones I've been listing showing as sales on Amazon US?

It's a seemingly random collection of novels but happy they are still offering the monthly deals. Thanks for posting this!

The coffee table book Star Trek: New Worlds, New Civilizations is down to $8 from $25.

For those who have read it, what did you think about it?

EDIT: I randomly stumbled across These Haunted Seas (the compilation of the first two Mission: Gamma books) for $8, and the listing had the "Best Price in 30 Days" note on it.

To quote another franchise... I've got a bad feeling about this.

It's already August 8, and the Canadian eBook sites still only have six of the eighteen sale items marked down to $1.99:

TOS #11: Yesterday's Son
TOS #38: The IDIC Epidemic
TOS: Spock's World
TOS: No Time Like the Past
Destiny #3: Lost Souls
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country Novelization

So either they've decided to decouple the Canadian monthly sales from the US monthly sales, or it was just some kind of mess up this month. I'm hoping it's the latter, and we will resume getting the same sale items next month. The things that I think are in favour of that interpretation are that the six we got are a subset of the US list, so it's not like we've got a completely separate group of novels, and that the June/July books are still on sale here as of now, which according to my check on the B&N website, is not the case for the US.

It's just really bad timing that this happened to occur the same month that Sword of Damocles was on sale for the first time ever! :scream:

I have absolutely no proof or anything to base this on, but I think the reason that we skipped the whole month on sales completely in July was because the new owners of simon and schuster were trying to figure out their sales strategy for all their books and they only got the u s part figured out correctly and the canadian part will come sooner than later.

I really like NWNC, it's pieces of faux journalism from just after the Dominion War; MJF really nails the genre of a Time magazine feature. The art is great.

I'm not sure how long this lasts, so it might be over by the time most of you see this.
They aren't Trek books, but a Titan has put some of their Alien books on sale for $1.99. Several of the authors have also written Trek books, so I thought it might of interest to any of their fans here. The sale includes the Bug Hunt anthology featuring stories by @KRAD , Dan Abnett, Christopher Golden, and Paul Kupperberg, Alien: Isolation novelization by @KRAD, Alien Omnibus Vol. 1 including The Female War co-written by Stephanie Perry (aka S.D. Perry) and Into Charybdis by Alex White. It does not include ADF's movie novelizations or the other 5 omnibuses which included several more of S.D. Perrys novels along with one each by Michael Jan Friedman and Diane Carey.
I'm assuming they're doing as a celebration of the premiere of Alien: Earth tonight, so I'm not sure how long it'll last.

The novelization of the Verheiden trilogy -- the three Dark Horse Comics mini-series that continued Aliens before Alien 3 -- were okay if unspectacular, and the Newt and Hicks characters are renamed for obvious reasons (namely, that these stories don't fit into the film continuity after 1992).

It does not include ADF's movie novelizations or the other 5 omnibuses which included several more of S.D. Perrys novels along with one each by Michael Jan Friedman and Diane Carey.
Friedman's novel was fun. It's a sequel to Resurrection, and it reads like a Firefly novel.

I have not read Diane Carey's Aliens novels -- I thought there were two -- but Dave Galanter told me the first one at least was enjoyable. The second hadn't come out yet, and he told me she had something like two weeks to write the manuscript.
