E-Book Pricing Alerts

Curiously, for someone whose favorite TOS episode is "I, Mudd," I did not yet have Mudd in Your Eye in my collection. That should be a fun one to revisit once I return to reading in the TOS era.

So S&S has published their sale list for the month, and it looks like the only one I missed in my list above is Vulcan’s Forge, for $1.99.

I always check the lists from Amazon, because I seem to have less issues finding the sale books through search with them. However, it appears I missed this one because there doesn’t seem to be a Kindle listing for this book. Even when I search it directly, I can’t find it. MA has a link to the Kindle version, but when I try it, I just get a “page not found” error.

Not sure what’s going on with that. The discounted ebook is available on Kobo, though.

Yeah, it looks like it’s just an Amazon/Kindle thing. If you click the various other ebook retailer links (Apple Books, Barnes and Noble/Nook, etc.) on the S&S page for Vulcan’s Forge, they all take you to a $1.99 ebook copy you can buy from them just fine.

Yeah, back when no one knew what an e-book was...
lol.....well they were around than, and even before than. I remember reading ebooks on a Dell Axim x51v (Windows CE PDA) before I got a Kindle. Crazy how PDAs died but came full circle with the modern smartphone.

What was the file format for the ebooks included on the New Frontier CD-ROM that came with the hardcover release back in the day? That is obsolete, right?

Sorry, Amazon is a walled garden, and they only allow Kindle ebooks to be read on Kindle devices or apps. So we'll go with "no".

And any discussion on how to make it happen anyway would be out-of-bounds on this board.

Depends if the publishers enable DRM. You can always pop them through calibre I imagine.

Looks like some of the deals for June are up early in the UK. Ones I can currently see for 99p are:

TOS
Prime Directive by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens

S.C.E. / Corps of Engineers
#7 Invincible Book 1 by David Mack and Keith R.A. DeCandido
#35 The Demon Book 1 by Loren L. Coleman and Randall N. Bills
#43 Paradise Interrupted by John S. Drew
#59 Blackout by Phaedra M. Weldon
Troubleshooting by Robert Greenberger

Non-fiction
The Art of Star Trek by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens

Looks like the next month's sale items are just starting to trickle onto Amazon Canada. So far, I'm seeing:

$1.99

DSN #25: Rebels: Book 2: The Courageous
DSN: Far Beyond the Stars
Quotable Star Trek

Saratoga was from the May sale. Those ones just haven't gone back to regular price as of yet.

Hmmm… I see that you are correct by the start of May posts here. And yet I still didn’t have it in Kindle. Odd. I must have somehow gotten confused about having it already back at the start of May. It (Amazon) usually tells you if you already have it (so I don’t think I could buy it twice that way).
