Dune [Part 3] Messiah 2027 (28, 29, 30...)

frank herbert said that the navigators from the 1984 film were exactly what he thought about when he pictured them. i fear in this movie they would be "tamed" with their actual mutation to something that looks too humanoid

I think I'm in the minority, but I really don't see anyone other than Denis doing these movies and thus don't think that we'll see any more from this specific Adapted Universe other than Dune Prophecy.

I think the studio thinks otherwise because if they smell profits they will ride this one to death. Depending on the clout of the new director they might change the style somewhat to make it "his/her own" or the studio is able to dictate the style and demand something close to Villeneuve to keep the identity of the series intact and not confuse the audience.

I think it's a safe bet we'll get something post Messiah because those movies were a big success and i think Dune 3 will also be very profitable. It just remains to be seen how soon they will start production on the sequels given they need to find a new director, possibly a new crew too and basically start writing and planning from scratch so i don't see a new Dune for at least 3-4 years if not more after Dune 3.

Was Prophecy any good?

Judging purely from how it tied into the movies, I thought it was very well done. I can imagine people who are huge fans of all the novels (I am not) will find things faulty with it. But those are the same people that demand that any novel (Dune, Harry Potter, LOTR, anything by an author ever) is followed page by page and letter by letter. This is simply not possible.
I felt the movies represented the original novel of Dune quite well, and following the movies, I felt the show tied in very well.

Also, I have AuDHD so that was a great example of how we answer a simple question. :D

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, given that I've consistently avoided the books it's based on.

And at least it gave us
a space-folding scene,
unlike some other projects I could mention...

I really couldn't completely handle Travis Fimmel's whole schtick at first. His line delivery, the whole way he acts. But I guess you just get used to it.

Huge get moment if they can bring back James McAvoy
Still find it mad he was in that show. Probably because in my mind he was a huge star before i heard of the TV show.

I'll never get over just how much the world agreed with me on how amazing my crush and hetero crush from Starter for 10 were.
