And Carnival Row, too!Rome, Torchwood, Luther, GoT, Kenobi, ... She's certainly been low-key Sean Beaning a bit.
Likewise, which is somewhat amusing in my case since I remember a conversation I had with someone in the real world after her casting on Obi-Wan was announced. The person I was talking to asked "why do I know that name?" I answered "she was that one on Torchwood who kept getting killed and resurrected repeatedly."Until your earlier post, I hadn't realized Varma had been taking the Sean Bean path! I know and love her in all of those shows and yet somehow I never put one and one together.
They did more than one adaptation of The Expanse?I don't think a TV adaptation of a mediocre novel need itself be mediocre. Most of the TV adaptations of The Expanse novels were better than the source material - even though the same writers were involved. They took the chance to polish their own stories.

Yeah, I had heard about that particular bit of stupidity.![]()

I stopped after reading the culminating novel of the Butlerian Jihad trilogy, The Battle of Corrin (2004), when I finally realised that practically nothing on the page was likely to have been part of Frank Herbert's vision. I'd previously read the House trilogy, which I found bland and uninspired, and skipped Fremen Justice for some reason I forget. After consuming six of BH&KJA's offerings, I decided I'd wasted enough time and money. The books went to a charity shop. This is where I quit reading the prequels/interquels. They went from entertaining backstory to then trying to cover every single second of Paul's birth which was unnecessary. The fact that he was just an heir being raised with witch powers in secret was interesting enough.
