Scorpi had to be one of the better Sci-Fi vllians we had seen in years (at least when Farscape first came out)
Agreed. Although I agree with
Lindley at least as far as Ben Linus goes. LOST's Bed Linus was made of awesome. Very well written character, more layered than an onion.
Don't know if you've read the entire thread. But the short story is a thread was posted in the VOY forum along the lines of "Voyagers main problems" this thread appeared later. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions
I posted that thread myself. Is it really the reason the OP started this? I thought I was pretty respectful with that thread in the VOY forum. I admitted to watching all seven seasons of VOY and enjoying it. However, I felt the show had its problems, and I hoped I could start a respectful discussion of where it fell short. If you got to the Voyager forum, I hope you can see that my original post was nothing like trollish posting of the OP. I certainly didn't mean to start any nastiness, I merely meant to see how people thought VOY could have improved. Yeesh.
The sad thing about some folks on this board is that they seem to be so insecure about how their taste in TV appears to others that they just seem to lose it when other people don't like everything that they like. I really don't understand this phenomenon, but it certainly exists here, and has for as long as I can remember. In fact, that issue is the chief reason we have lots of moderators on this board. Blatant flaming and trolling are easy to deal with - a few clicks and you are done with them. It's these arguments and antics of people who feel the need to 'get back' at anyone who doesn't just LOVE what they love...or who are under the impression that even a well reasoned and politely phrased negative discussion about 'their show' is tantamount to Trollapalooza...those are the posters who take up all the time and energy - at least in the Trek forums.
It's very odd, because, even after about a decade as a mod of this forum, I still don't get why a politely phrased negative remark riles some people. When people come into this forum and post the typical DS9 complaints - that DS9 didn't 'go anywhere', that it was a 'space opera', that Dukat sucked toward the end, or my all time favorite: that DS9 wasn't 'true' Trek because it wasn't about space exploration....none of that bothers me in the slightest. As long as they are polite about it, who cares what they think? I love the show, I have my DVD sets, and am perfectly happy if no one in the world but me loves it. I'm set, so who cares what they think? It's a total disconnect to me why some people take it so personally when a complete and total stranger on the internet does not like 'their show'.
My advice to you, therefore, is to just continue to make sure you are polite in your posting style and try to be diplomatic in your discussion. If you do those things, you are golden. If you haven't had any run-ins with the VOY mods (who I know and like very much, being the reasonable people that they are and all), then I would not worry about it.
