DS9 soundtrack / scoring

Hi all,

I'm looking for DS9's scoring wherever I can get it. Particularly the stuff from the later seasons such as themes from the Dominion War plots. Anyone know where / if it is available?

(I already have the The Best of Star Trek)

Unfortunately almost all of the Deep Space Nine scores are unavailable for purchase. Other than the score for Emissary (plus the single release for the main theme) and the snippets on the Best of Star Trek collections (Volume 1 and 2) nothing has been released as of yet. But who knows what the future brings ...

NCC-1701 has it right. Only music from the episodes Emissary, The Visitor, and The Way of the Warrior have been released on CD or in any other form. There's also a re-recording of a track from the episode Life Support on the compilation 'Space and Beyond.' But that's about it, as far as I know. It's a shame the simple, yet effective theme from The Siege of AR-558 has never been released.

I recall being very impressed by the music in Inquisition. I know people complain about the Berman-era "sonic wallpaper", but I...don't dislike it. It's distinctive to the show, and I think it fits the mood of Trek.

Well, now that circunstances at Paramount have change -- more specifically a new Head of Music (Randy Spendlove) who has decided to let scores be liscenced ut (where before they were notorious for NOT doing so), it's a safe bet we'll see more.

Lukas released the compelte "Star Trek 2" score via his FilmScoreMonthly label, said he working on "The Search for Spock" (but it would take a bit longer because of rights tied up with someone else), and he's also working on a 14CD set of Ron Jones' work for TNG, so it's only matter of time before some label starts on other composer's efforts for the various spin-offs.

Just be patient.

The music at the end of "The Changing Face of Evil" is among my favorite pieces of music anywhere in television.

A 14-CD set of Ron Jones' music? That's both amazing and insane. On one hand, it's great that so much music could be released (and Ron Jones was one of the best while he was employed with TNG). On the other, good Gods, I'll never be able to afford a 14-CD box set.

If you start saving up now, I'm sure you will. That's assuming the release date is sometiems mid next year, and not by year's end.

Thank you all for your responses. Not what I wanted to hear, but at least it looks like I'm not the only one who is interested in seeing this stuff released some day! :)
