wow...so all those novels are part of the Relaunch? That is going to take me a while to read!

I haven't read any Trek novels in almost a decade or more...

I think the whole DS9 Relaunch concept is excellent! Especially the way the books tie into each other and form a complete story...

It reminds me of the Star Wars: New Jedi Order series, which is also quite good...

Not all are related to the main story. Some like "A Stich in Time" (which you should read in any case if you like Garak) and "The Lives of Dax" provide background story and are referenced a couple of times.
Others like the "The Battle of Betazed", the non-DS9 Gateways books or The Lost Era have cameos by Relaunch characters. "Cold Fusion" is about something that happens of screen

    The essential books are these:
    Avatar I + II
    Section 31: Abyss
Gateways: Demons of Air and Darkness
Gatways: What Lay Beyond "Horn and Ivory"
    Mission Gamma: Twilight
    MG: This Gray Spirit
    MG: Cathedral
    MG: Lesser Evil
    Rising Son
The Left Hand of Destiny I + II
    Unity (November)

Read these and then get A Stich in Time and The Lives of Dax. The rest depending on the interest you have in the stories

Does anybody know if this is still the most up-to-date timeline on this board? I've tried searching for others.

So how does the IKS Gorkon books fit into this timeline? I've heard they run somewhat parallel to Mission: Gamma series but nothing beyond that.

And what about the "The Calling" short story from the upcoming Prophecy and Change which is the only story taking place after the series and also a sequel to A Stitch in Time?

    Thanks.

Yes it's still up to date. The next Relaunch novel is Unity in November

KRAD can answer the question about IKS Gorkon but I don't see why it has to be tied specifically to Mission Gamma. Maybe you are confusing this with a comic (Divided We Fall I think) that takes places in a two week window during Twilight

Yup. The Brave and the Bold Book 2, Part 4 takes place in the two-week window between Parts 1 and 2 of Twilight, and the first two I.K.S. Gorkon books pick up more or less right after that. (I even have Martok throw in a wholly gratuitous mention of the Defiant's mission to the GQ.)

Alright. I somehow I confused TBATB with those comics :)
It's time for the Unity timeline to be released

No, you're not confusing them, because they both take place during that same gap in Twilight.

Thanks for responding, KRAD. So do the Gorkon books give any indication how long they run? I'm trying to figure out how long they last compared to the MG novels (even though they aren't related at all AFAIK).

    De nada.

The passage of time is clearly indicated in the books themselves, worry not. :)

    Bumper cars are great fun.

Oh, for the day this glitch is fixed and a sticky thread can be created that actually sticks. That day will be a joyful one indeed!

Well, as KRAD stated, L.J. Akaar appears in Lost Era: The Sundered as a member of the Excelsior crew under Captain Sulu. He actually has quite a bit of development and revelations about his past.

Will he appear in our second, upcoming Sulu novel? You'll have to wait and see! Meanwhile, keep an eye on my webpage for more about the various Mangels & Martin Star Trek projects!

    Andy,
I see from your website that the next Sulu book is due in 2004 OR 2005...What's up. Can't you decide which year

I'll do it for you...2004, start of :D There how's that, not too painful was it?

I totally enjoyed the Sundered as I stated in my e-mail. But to have to wait 'till 2005 for the next book :(

So. Stop hanging around here and you and Michael GET WRITING

It's not up to the writer. The editors have to figure out what schedule to publish the dozens of novels in, and there are a lot of variables that go into that.
