Comparing DS9 to Enterprise is like comparing filet mignon to spam (With DS9 being the filet mignon of course).
Of course, sometimes you just want some spam.

That said, I chose DS9. I liked them both, but DS9 seemed to be more original, while Enterprise was ANOTHER show on ANOTHER starship. I liked how DS9 shook up the formula a lot more than the other Trek shows.

I never finished watching ENT maybe because I wasn't as into star trek then. I wasn't fussed on DS9 when I first saw it (maybe I saw some of the silly Nog/Jake episodes). Now I really like DS9 its darker than VOY (I still like that best because of Janeway) and it actually bothers to have a story that lasts more than 2 episodes. Maybe I should give ENT another go though.

Page 2? I'm surprised this thread got to page two before the haters smelled another bashing opportunity.

I like Enterprise a lot more than most fans...but Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is the superior series.

Now, I like both. (I enjoy all Star Trek series!)

But, as a matter of personal preference, I have to go with Enterprise. DS9 had a great first 3 seasons and some good episodes scattered beyond that, but got drowned out in the war storyline, turned a bit to cynical for my tastes, and had a very unsatisfying ending.

Enterprise had a solid opening 2 seasons with some classic episodes, but then really picked up in Season 3 and soared to new heights in Season 4. Season 4 of Star Trek: Enterprise ranks among my Top 5 of all Trek seasons ever. And, from what I've read, Season 5 would have been just as amazing.

For those that love grades:
Original Series A
The Next Generation B+
Deep Space Nine B-
Voyager A+
Enterprise A

Enterprise

Just found the show more fun and re-watchable than Deep Space Nine.

As usual, the results of this poll are on par with asking people to choose between a new car or a root canal from an orc on LSD.

DS9. No contest.

Babylon 5! :p

Probably. Enterprise can be just as dark as DS9, arguably even moreso. Killing around 1/5 of the crew and wrecking the ship, and not resetting it, was a pretty bold move for a Trek show. There's some continuity issues with the show, and season 2 is quite weak, but you should definitely give it a fair shot.

DS9 was too cynical for you, but Enterprise's third season (the one where Earth was about to be destroyed by religious fanatics and Archer had to resort to piracy) was great? And WYLB was less satisfying than TATV? Interesting. :vulcan:

IAMD was better than the entire MU arc on DS9 in my opinion.

Also, Enterprise has Space Nazis, fistfights, Borgs and ACTUAL moving Andorian antennae.
and sex (sorta).
My vote goes to... DS9

Enterprise was OK, at least in the last couple of seasons, but personally I think DS9 was a lot better. One reason is that I found DS9's characters more interesting and believable. That's important, because good characters can help a show to remain watchable during its weaker moments. I always felt far more invested in the characters, setting and stories on DS9 than I did on Enterprise.

I voted for DS9 because the 3 or 4 episodes of Enterprise I tried to watch I found so boring that I wanted to get up and go to the kitchen to watch ice melt. Watching ice melt couldn't have been any more boring. The most memorable part of one of those 3 or 4 episodes of Enterprise I tried to watch was what I was thinking at the time, which was: "Why I am watching this? Oh, yeah. To see if I can watch an entire episode without changing the channel." The answer was no, BTW.
