DS9 Omnibuses

Captain W Riker

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
I'm catching up with the DS9 relaunch mainly with omnibuses (I picked up "Unity" first, then enjoyed it so much that I went back to "Twist of Faith") and am planning to pick up "These Haunted Seas" as soon as it comes out.

I was wondering: is there any news on when the next omnibus will be out? There was a little over a year between the first two, but I'm not sure if I can wait that long! :klingon:

As stated several times in the last couple months. when this question came: That depends on the sales of this new omnibus. If PB is making enough money with it to justify a continuation, they will certainly do so.

You can get Unity new still. The other ones I just bought used. I can't read books on the computer...PAIN in the head!!!!

Thanks, guys. Once I've got the whole of "Mission Gamma" in omnibus, I'm gonna get everything in its original format like I did with "Unity". I just can't find reasonably-priced "Mission Gamma" books anywhere!

If you live in Los Angeles, I can point you to where book 3 & 4 are still available at cover price.

Me either. I like to toss and turn in the bed with a book actually in my hands. Or in the bath if I'm in the mood.

I'm British, but thank you anyway! :)

Have you tried Forbidden Planet stores - the London one's got a heck of a lot of back Trek novels certainly...

I miss reading in the bath since it was removed in our renovations. It is very hard to read in a shower and as a result my level of reading has dropped considerably.

Forbidden Planet in London is like a Treasure Cave, especially compared to the one in Dublin. I always have to be careful when I visit London that I don't buy too much or else I'll have to pay excess baggage.

^ That's the one on Shaftesbury Avenue isn't it? I was there two years ago and got all of the DS9 novelizations. Best holiday ever.

^It is the one on Shaftesbury Avenue. It took me a while to find it the first time round. Slightly OT but this year I got a Dalek tie there which I now where to work every day. Best piece of clothing I ever bought.

I was just thinking... it's quite a shame to use these amazing titles for an omnibus when they could be used for new books. ;)

Not to mention the confusion it causes when you are looking at the upcoming books schedule. It would make more sense to call it something like: The DS9 Relaunch Collection Vol 1.

Except these usually note when it's a reprint omnibus.

Pocket will have already done some level of market research, you know.

The idea is to come up with a cover and title that will catch people's attention in bookstores or when shopping online. Pocket has never pushed the "relaunch" moniker. I seem to recall Marco preferring "post-series novels". And terms like "collection" and "Vol 1" can spook people.
