Drop the S31 show for a Captain Pike show?

This is a pretty strait forward question, would you want CBS to drop the development of the Section 31 show, and do a Pike show instead? Or would you like some type of hybrid, like the Pike show also featuring Georgiou and S31, all the players relationships have already been established in Discovery, so not much of a stretch.

I myself, do want a Pike and crew show, but it can feature also Georgiou and to smaller degree S31.

Hybrid would he fine as long as they can do both with excellence. I'm very interested in both, but I think S31 would be more intriguing as something different than what's come before in ST series.

At this point, I'd be glad for anything that continues the 23rd century. I was never particularly a TOS fan, having grown up with the TNG era shows, but Discovery made me want to see even more of it. I think I'd be able to find something to enjoy in both options, despite their wildly different premises. Of course, nothing stops CBS from reusing the Enterprise assets in the Section 31 show, perhaps even another Connie. I've ultimately chosen the last option, but that naturally encompasses either the S31 show, a possible Pike series, a hybrid one, or both (for example, special events featuring the Enterprise during season breaks). As long as we spend more time in the 23rd century and it's a good show, anything goes for me, really.

I'd prefer a Pikespockterprise series, but I don't think Mount is willing to commit so...

With Ash Tyler on board (as the S2 finale implies) and the softening of Georgiou, I'm more eager for the S31 show than I was.

True, but she can work just as well in the Pike show if they can think of a good reason she is on the Enterprise an is not the Captain. Or she is with S31, and the stories are somehow interwoven with Pikes mission.

Why not Both? (And why can't Pike and Spock be a part of the S31 show as well?

Michelle Yeoh is a large international star and well known. There's no reason CBS AA shouldn't do a show staring her if they are looking to bring in subscribers outside of the U.S.)

Like it or not, a series based on Section 31 would be something new, a previously unexplored facet of the Star Trek series. A Pike show, really is just more of the same. There's nothing new it can bring to the table.

Yeah. I really liked Prime Georgiou, and I would have loved a show with her, perhaps even over Pike show. But S31 and evil mirror duplicates are pretty much my most disliked Trek elements, and not even Yeoh can change that.

So getting rid of the Trek show with pretty much the worst possible concept imaginable and gaining a Pike show instead sounds like a win-win situation to me!

Neither. Star Trek should be about a Starfleet crew exploring space (or in the case of DS9 administering alien space stations). A Section 31 show would be anything but and a Pike show would simply be a nostalgia fest.

That being said, at least Section 31 would be guaranteed to be something different.

The only way I'd want a Section 31 show is if they 1) killed off MU Georgiou, and 2) found some way to resurrect her prime counterpart.

And I don't care if L'Rell said they ate her. She could have been BS-ing.

Not really. It has occasional references, but it stands on its own, and changes things as it pleases.
