Drexler's Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

The campaign is to have everyone to watch Enterprise on Netflix, not for the 5th season shown on Netflix, but to be shown on one the Viacom networks, CBS, CW, Syfy or any networks that will take it.
But I doubt that they will start filming a fifth season. More likely, they will make a Enterprise movie, a mini series or start a new series, with a new ship, with a new crew, which take place in the same time period as the NX01.

Even more likely, in fact almost certain, is that they won't do any of those things at all.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

I'm all in favor of this, but bear in mind that Netflix is not the organization that needs to be convinced - and the effort so far is aimed at Netflix.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

^I love the idea too. But we need CBS to make it happen. I for one will be watching the series on Netflix to help out:)

Exactly. I'm sure Netflix would bend over backwards to have this exclusive content.
Good luck with convincing CBS, the license owners! That's the real pipe dream.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

I'd be ok if they did one or two netflix movies.

RAMA

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

With a new cast. Drexler already made the ship look much better sans the Berman blanket. Hopefully inside will get an update too and get bigger with more light. I hate the Meyer's submarine gritty grid approach as well as the no toggle switches Okudas and Sternbach's approach. I even got him to agree to that but Berman was putting the whammy on everything and hamstringing everybody including and especially the writers until he became one himself to our chagrin, and stopped the open submissions policy and hired the fat lady clown, Manny Coto to end it all. I guess when Brannon saw him, he knew it was all over. It was two mediocre faceless showrunner against one. I once wrote a letter to Braga how I could have improved some of the episodes that Berman was involved with and someone called me, I think it was him, and agreed with me, but told me that Rick had a very fragile ego that shouldn't be broken. Of course Brannon was so far up his ass by that time that it didn't matter. They were virtually the same person twenty years apart. Unfortunate.

I would love ent back just so long they keep Abrams away from it. He is such an overrated hack. Ent may have had issues but looking back star trek is 99% better than most tv in the last decade esp sff that has been utter crap. Revolution, invasion, caprica, Alcatraz, zero hour, last resort, daybreak, surface, the river, Grimm, shu, sga, bionic woman 2.0 etc.

+1 for ent return though

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

Yet again. Why does every thread need to turn to Abrams bashing? Abrams ain't going to touch Enterprise with a twenty-foot pole, it has the stink of failure all over it. Not that its a terrible show, just no one watched and no one really seems to want to watch it now.

And the Drexler redesign of the NX-01 looks like ass.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

I'm all for it. I know I want Star Trek on TV as opposed to the films and I know I was bummed when Enterprise ended. The very least I can do is like a facebook page and watch the damned show I like on Netflix.

And, local TV news coverage too!

Personally, I'd love to see Enterprise return. At the very start, I didn't like the show, but it quickly grew on me, and the third and especially the fourth seasons were superb.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

This campaign is pointless, Enterprise will not return, no chance! And before anyone says "Arrested Development", that's completely different, that show was loved by critics and has a hardcore fan base, since it ended it became some kind of cult show, it's from start to finish.

Enterprise is known as the Star Trek show not even Star Trek fans liked, even if Netflix wanted to do something with Star Trek, what on earth would make them say "Let's do Enterprise!"?

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

You'll get no argument here. It's always been a long shot. Anytime anybody even suggests it, my attitude tends to be "Yes, I liked those actors and the whole prequel setting". If they brought it back and took onboard the more reasonable critiques, about stuff largely forced on the Production Team at the time, the whole concept could yet be a triumph.

If not, well... a new Star Trek will come along eventually.

I like the idea but I does not seem very viable. I'd still prefer the idea of making a "straight-to-video" movie. I'd do anything to see the Earth-Romulan War.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

Why do people always act personally slighted when others embrace an idea they don't think will work, even though they have no personal stake in the matter?

I don't see anyone here acting slighted. But it is a discussion board and usually discussions are pretty dull if they're one-sided.

Re: Drexler?s Bring Enterprise To Netflix Campaign

Star Trek has a stake in the matter, and Enterprise ain't no steak. That is one ugly ship, IMO. The enterprise should be beautiful in any century. the NX stands for nix or next.
