Downton Abbey series 6.

Yeah, holy fuck. What a scene. They really didn't half-arse the finale of the ulcer sub-plot, did they? And in front of the future Prime Minister. That's an anecdote for the ages, surely.

The Guardian reviewer wasn't impressed with the episode but I actually liked it. Apart from the dinner scene, a lot was going on and we got some nice scenes for Edith but also for Daisy and Mr. Mason. The racing and the subsequent trip to the pub were nice, too.

I really do want a gif of the projectile vomiting, though.

If you are on tumblr I think they might be some gif's knocking around.

Yes, I already found two and a reaction shot which might come in handy (and is obviously less spoilery than the vomiting).

I forgot to say earlier that one thing I really did admire about the dinner scene was how Lord Grantham declared his love for Cora in a stiff upper lip way while bleeding on the cloth she was holding and thinking he might die. That's kind of grand.

Well it the least he could do, I don't think her dress is going to come clean.

Just caught up, finally.

-Racing/car stuff. Snore.
-Violet's staff. Snore.
-Thought Anna would lose the baby. Can they PLEASE have something go right finally?
-Mr. Carson is going to get a frying pan upside his head from his wife.
-Boy is Daisy getting to be bitchy. I don't like her anymore.
-Not happy at seeing Mary happy, the bitch.
-Yikes! That dinner scene! Poor Chamberlain. Guess it prepared him for Hitler later on. :p
-So Mary will find out about Marigold. Yikes. And jeez, Edith, Marigold? What toff names their kid Marigold?

We'll see. You're forgetting this show is a soap opera at its core.

That being said, I certainly hope Anna doesn't lose the baby. But after what happened to Cora, Sybil and Matthew, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Before series 5 aired the rumour was Edith's child was going to be called Amelia, which I think is better but Marigold means sadness and Fellowes will not let Edith be happy.
I just home the smug bitch does not go after Marigold and I would love for Tom to remember he was a socialist.

What a sad way to end an episode. Poor Thomas. :(

Granted, my memory is a bit hazy but a couple of seasons ago Thomas sort of harrassed another staff member. It was seen as a misunderstanding. Back then, we had a lot of people downplaying it with Lord Grantham saying that he would have been very busy if he had reacted like that guy whenever someone tried to kiss him in Eton or something to that effect. But now that whatever Andy and Thomas are doing looks consensual it's a problem and Andy has to be protected? A bit more consistency would be nice.

They're really serious about the hospital storyline, aren't they? It'll be the big thing in the finale the way this is going. At least it gave the Dowager plenty of moments to shine last night. I really enjoyed that.
I also liked Robert being bored to death having to stay in bed. Amazing that he nearly drank wine. After that dinner scene I was rather paranoid something similar would happen to me any moment. I don't think I'd ever eat or drin anything suspicious ever again if that had happened to me. His conversation with the boy was nice and I liked his fatalistic attitude towards the Dowager.

Lady Mary was in splendid form as well, handing out burns left and right. As punishment, she got settled with the most awkward flirting, though (when they sheltered from the rain). Ugh. But he'll probably die next week, anyway.

I just can't get interested in any of Mary's men.
But I do hope Edith tell's Bertie bout Marigold soon.

I can't get interested in Mary. She's a cold-hearted, spoiled brat who goes out of her way to be cruel to her only living sibling.

If she screws up Edith's chance of happiness...

She's a bitch.

Thomas: Just an ep or two ago he was being a prick - again - while acting as butler so no sympathy from me. Boo the fucking hoo. Reap what you sow, buddy.

Edith. Hope the secret of Marigold doesn't scupper the romance. Or Mary. Again, she's a bitch.

Daisy. STILL ANNOYING. I used to like her. Now...not anymore.

Carson, jeez louise, you're going to get a frying pan upside your head.

Wouldn't it be wild if Tom and Mary paired up at the end? He'd deserve better though.

Come on Isobel. The fiancee is not what she seems, I think. Be on guard. His kids are ruthless. But I want to see her marry Merton.

Only 2 more eps plus the Christmas one, then all done.

I wish that Edith would tell Bertie about Marigold, because we know if it looks like Bertie might ask Edith to marry him, Mary being the bitch she is will just have to ruin it.
And I bet Flobert and Cora will do jack shit.

This. I'm so sick of this season trying to make me feel sorry for Thomas after all of the bullshit he has pulled over the years. When he cried at the end, my eyes rolled behind the back of my head. Bleah.

I know people are cutting back, but if he moved to London he most likely have gotten a new job as a butler by now.
I suppose the series will end with him being Edith and Bertie butler or Mr Carson will retire or Mrs Carson will Kill him:lol: and he will end up getting Carson's Job.

I want Miss O'Brien to show up at the end taking over the place with something like this.

Well I knew that guy was going to die when they all said they where off to the races.
I was feeling sorry for Lady Mary for a second there I hope it does not happen again.:alienblush:
I loved the scene between Berite and Edith, I don't think anyone has ever put their feet on the furniture on Downton before so times must be changing.
Just a shame their possible engagement was over shadowed by a puppy.
From the trailer I saw for Next week I really hope Edith wins that fight.

The trailer on the itv site shows a bit more.
I hope Thomas doesn't kill himself. I've read that there is going to be a funeral at some point.

I think the funeral is for Berite's cousin Peter and I think Bertie is going to get the castle and after some drama Edith. Then hopefully Thomas can go and work for them

Gotta love Mary. Dumps the poor guy on one of the worst days of his life.

Beginning to think Isobel might marry Lord Merton after all.

Boo hoo hoo, Thomas. Nobody wuvs you, you nasty little snake.
