Donny's Refit Enterprise Interiors (Version 2.0)

I haven't spotted that one, but the other console was a ubiquitous fixture inside the FLAG Semi on Knight Rider. During the first season, it looked as it did in TWOK, but for the second (and remaining seasons) it was finished in a blonde wood veneer to match the rest of the interior.

Ah yes. I remember this coming up last time I modeled this console.

Has anyone spotted this particular movie prop in any other films or TV? It was rented from Modern Props, which sadly announced it's closing down soon :-(

Too many to count. As I think I mentioned, the earliest production where I remember seeing wall consoles of that type was The Incredible Hulk -- mainly "Prometheus," but I think they might have been in an earlier episode where David snuck into some research lab to try to cure himself. I also saw some of those consoles in at least one of the V miniseries, probably The Final Battle. I remember them being in a ground-based Visitor facility behind Andrew Prine as Steven.

What a weird shape these have, with the angled back end rather than being flat against the wall. Top notch work as ever!

I'm almost positive a version of these were used in Buck Rogers cause I was modeling a set a few months back LOL

Nice work!

Are these the control panels from the scene in TWOK when Kirk orders yellow alert, Saavik orders "Energize defense fields", and then a bunch of hands turn dials and flip switches? I've always wondered where those controls are.

No, these aren’t those same control panels. I’ve never successfully sourced the ones you’re referring to before.

Those look like some random electronics they shot for inserts in post production and I guarantee you they weren't on the sets.

EDIT 2020-03-03: Whoops! Mea culpa! I was sure wrong on the struckout above! (LINK)

I agree. There's no evidence anywhere that those electronics in the insert shots were ever part of the sets.

I wouldn't be surprised if those were generic shots purchased from a stock-footage library, rather than shot for the film itself.

That would explain why I've always wondered where they are. It wouldn't surprise me if those shots were meant to be interpreted as happening in other parts of the ship. Many of them have that vibe.

And I've finished up the very last prop I needed to model before calling the TMP and TWOK Enterprise engine rooms done.

This one I actually didn't think I'd get around to since there was so little reference, but I spent the day tackling it, remembering I am able to model something and get it pretty damn close without schematics or close-to-orthographic angles ;) I previously asked if anyone had seen it in any other Trek productions upthread, but put it off to the very last minute. It's the free-standing console in TMP that was close by the main engineering console, which I am dubbing The Assistant Engineer's Console:

I like the main structure of the console, as I feel it's very TMP-esque, but I dislike the "antenna" that sticks up at the rear of the console, with what looks to be a small "radar dish" of sorts. I couldn't make out exactly what that small half-globe structure is, so I went with my best guess of being a transmission dish of some sort.

Anyway, here it is:

I'll be doing my final renders of both the TMP and TWOK engine rooms shortly. I originally wanted to also visualize an Impulse Engineering Deck and perhaps a Reliant Engine Room, but I'm really quite ready to move onto something else for a minute before returning in the future to take care of those. I can only spend so much time with a given set of props and models before just getting sick of looking at them ;-p
