Does It Get Better???

This might seem like it's coming out of nowhere, but I am actually considering quitting Voyager. Even though my scores have gone up I just don't feel excited when I sit down to watch it. I feel like I could be doing better things with my time. I haven't made up my mind yet, but it's 50/50 whether I choose to stay with it or not right now. Thoughts?

It seems like you're getting a bit burned out by the repetitive episodic nature of the season 5-7 era.....personally I'd like you to keep watching it but if you feel like its time for a break then go for it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder as they say. So maybe if you take a good break from it, you can get to the point where you'll actually look forward to watching it again.

Yeah, the repetition of the show is grinding my gears. There's hardly any originality here.

And that's a good idea. Since it's on Netflix I could always revisit it later on if I felt like it. I'll have to see how I feel over the next several days before I make my decision.

The grind is a natural component we all had to deal with, even if not in such a condensed fashion as you are.

I don't mean to be rude (this time) but you were delusional if you thought that this was going to be an enjoyable experience.

What you should notice, that although it's harder to find highs from the good episodes, it also harder to find lows with the bad episodes because you have engineered a workspce in your brain to proccess this porogramming with such efficiencey, it doesn't even touch the sides.

Dragon's Teeth: Interesting aliens-of-the-week, an engaging story, and good performances by everyone. Janeway's line at the end about seeing them again bugged the hell out of me though because it's obvious that Voyager will never encounter them again. They'll forget everything that happened in this episode by next week.
I was in a lousy state of mind watching this (still really am) episode, so it was really hard for me to enjoy it, but being as objective as possible I think that Dragon's Teeth is very good. If I was happier I am sure I would have enjoyed it much more.

I think they meant to bring them back if Voyagers ratings had been as high as Paramount wanted them to be but because they weren't, I assume they freaked and used the Borg much more instead. they were already proven to grab an audience due to their numbers based on Scorpion and "First Contact", so they fell back on an old stand by instead of taking that risk on something new. I guess when the budget is at stake, a risk is too risky.

I think going back over the show, when you get to great eps. like this that are incredibly open ended to a fault, it just shows that the troubles behind the camera were starting to affect what was going on in front of it and that's not good.

I'm still uncertain, but I think now I'm leaning a little towards continuing with the show. My girlfriend dumped me, so it looks like I'll have some extra time to kill for awhile. Voyager's been saved......for now.

Easier said than done. When I'm feeling terrible I can't give TV the focus it needs in order for it to be enjoyable. I wish I could, but it just isn't the way I am.
