Does Castle get better?

The creators never made the mistake of making Detective Becket the butt of every Castle's joke: it's a two-way poking, and it's much more satisfying this way.

By the same token, it's an equal crimesolving partnership as well. It's not just the brilliant mystery writer solving all the cases while the cops are clueless; Castle learns as much from Beckett as she learns from him, and they both get to make the breakthroughs. Really, calling it just Castle is misleading. It should be Castle & Beckett.

I like Castle.

Now granted, I probably wouldn't watch it if it wasn't for Nathan Fillion. But then, I wouldn't watch Bones if it wasn't for David Boreanaz either. Both of them are the clear draws of their shows.

Castle is an entertaining show, and good for a laugh. And Fillion is great at light comedy, just as he was in Firefly.

Realistic? No. Best cop show ever? Hardly. But a fun watch, for sure. Certainly the only thing even remotely worth watching on Monday nights.

^Keep with it. It's worth it. I was lukewarm after the first episode or two, but it's become one of my favorite shows.

Being a dad myself, I tend to enjoy watching Castle's relationship with his daughter, Alexis. She's smart and pretty but not perfect.

Alexis... not perfect? Bite your tongue!

My daughter is the same age, so I tread a fine line when talking about Alexis.

Why does everyone here always assume that any discussion about Alexis's merits has to be sexual? Yes, she's pretty, but she's also smart, warm, charming, and sweet. She's worthy of respect and admiration as a human being. There shouldn't be anything wrong with acknowledging that.

It's a real funny show, and I love the dynamic between all the characters. Now if they can only find an excuse to bring in Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, and Mark Sheppard, we could have a real hoot of an episode.

Add to that the fun for Firefly fans of spotting the occasional reference that Nathan gets in there.

I've really been enjoying Castle. It took me a while to buy into the premise, but once I realized it was more of a character piece with the procedural aspect firmly in the background, I've been a fan ever since. It's a lot like Bones in that particular aspect.

I'm just more interested in the relationships between the various characters than "whodunit".

Also, I've enjoyed their tongue-in-cheek way of poking fun at the classic "crime-solving" cliches...Another worthwhile part of this show's particular charm.

I agree with what most people here are saying. Castle is fun. The characters are likable and Castle and Beckett are equals. It's one of the few shows I watch as soon as I am able to. Most shows I wait till the weekend to catch up on.
