Re: Doctor Who – The 11th Hour (5x01) - (Discuss – Grade | SPOILERS) U
There would seem to be some compositing issues. I guess the production team haven't quite got to grips with working in HD yet.
The show has also had a budget cut AND moved to HD at the same time. Frankly, it shouldn't look as good as it does. And honestly, it does look good. It's nicely shot, it doesn't have that garish over-sharpened video look to it any more, and the artistry still makes up for any technical/money limitations.
You guys talk as if the series' visuals have been ILM quality up to this point... dodgy effects shots have been a part of it since day one!
It's better than toy tanks at any rate.
can anyone else remeber what the point of that was again? given that Moffatt said in Confidental about making the show less London centric, that bit seemed pointless.I was really disappointed to begin with, with the ridiculous spectacle of Smith hanging out of the Tardis door,
I mentioned in my review how the CGI is being poorly married with the real life elements. Is it just me though, or is the CGI notably poorer than it used to be? The Tardis bombing around London was really unconvincing to me.
