Annoying? Not at all. She's tough and feisty, but also has a bit of vulnerability and dorkiness about her too. I thought it was a great mix, and made for a really cool character.
Martha I loved too, even if I was never that crazy about her "unrequited love for the Doctor" storyline.

Just my two pence, but Rory and the hospital thing, could it be a private one? Little picturesque village in the middle of no where, tis an ideal location for a private hospital, either that or because it seemed like a substantial drive from Leadworth to the Hospital, maybe it services several towns/villages as it wasn't THAT big a place.
As for Amy in general, I suspect she doesn't just do her kissing around the village, she'll no doubt have access to transport and able to service the local area, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Worcester and even Bristol and Bath for example. But anyway, she seems rather fun and in her normal dress sense and personality, she seems very similar to an old flame I had.
Did anyone else get a Hot Fuzz vib with the village or was that just me?

Some more observations:
11 get's his outfit the same way as 3 did... at a hospital.
The sound that's made when the sonic screwdriver pops out of the console is definitely an old series sound. I don't recall hearing it before in the new series, though someone could prove me wrong.

BUT ... I did like the idea of a companion who's a bit closer to being the Doctor's intellectual equal and a useful in a crisis. Ultimately, out of all the companions, I think I like Donna Noble the best; while she isn't as well educated as Martha, she was still quick-witted and strong-willed.
Agreed. It's hard to get emotionally worked up over Martha in any way.

Y'know, both Nine and Ten had some flair and a sense of style - a little eccentric in Ten's case, but definitely there. Eleven dresses like a dweeb.

I like that about him. Nine was always disconnected, like he didn't quite fit in. He acted alien. Ten, on the other hand, was almost too cool and collected. He always had everything in hand, and it made him seem more like he fit in, like he was just a guy. Eleven's gotten Nine's oddness back, though, and he also seems to still have a bit of Ten's stylish personality, but not nearly as much as he thinks. "Yeah, it's cool. Bowties are cool."

Agreed, that was epic. But something in the presentation of those travels felt flat. I suspect it was Freema Agyeman's acting, but it might have been the editing. I'm not saying she was the worst companion, merely that I prefer Donna and (sometimes) Rose.
