But Davros survived. Davros and the Master. If the villains are smart enough to escape the Time War, that makes the Time Lords out to be pretty daft in comparison if the Doctor was the only one who survived. The more this goes on, the more silly the whole concept of the Doctor being the last Time Lord seems.
"Average" here. Not as good as last week, but much better than "Midnight." The complete and utter schlock of the running down the road scene made me want to throw up, or at the very least cut back on sickeningly sweet food for a while from fear of becoming diabetic. Rose being annoyed because she wasn't included in the network when she knew she'd been declared dead at the Battle of Canary Wharf? Why should a dead former companion be included in the network?
Loved the crossover elements. Absolutely loved them. As usual, Ianto FTW. Jack promising Gwen and Ianto that he'd be back this time. Loved the Sarah Jane bits up until she froze like a deer in headlights in front of two Daleks that she should have bloody well known were going to be watching the streets with a curfew in place. That was the only real
moment of her storyline for me.And Harriet Jones. The perfect development for that character. Moffatt would be a fool to bring her back after that end. It would cheapen her actions. Although now it'll be interesting to see just how many pots Mr. Copper has his fingers in with the finances he had at his disposal when last we saw him. That's a nice new thread in the tapestry.
Martha is turning into a very interesting character. I think she could use a sense of whimsy from time to time, but it's good to see her becoming a fully-realized character after the back seats she took during her tenure as companion.
I liked it, but the drag effect of Rose's self-centeredness, and subsequent crap "Oh, you're back!!!!!!1!!! My loooooooooooooooooove!!!!!!!!!" running down the street (I hate that cliche so very, very, very, very much. It's so 'bad romance novel'.) just kept me from giving it anything above "Average".
Except Davros didn't survive, not originally. He was rescued by Caan, after the Doctor let Caan slip through his fingers (twice!).
If she's actually dead. She should be, but the way it was shot certainly makes it look like they're trying to misdirect people into thinking she's dead when she isn't.

But again, why dress up in a 7th Doctor-ish get up with umbrella next to him wearing hat, coat, jumper?
Unless he was interviewed while doing a convention, public appearence or just for a laugh turned up at BBC centre in full garb for the interview.

Yeah, same here. As bad as Rose's "What about me?" moments were, they were very much in character for Rose, and the "reunion" scene was overly cliche, but I can live with it.
this is why I tend to think the 10th Doctor is safe, if they hadnt had filmed that, then yeah all bets are off, but that filming makes me think we have not seen the last of the 10th Doctor
what is odd about the regeneration, is we only saw the regenerative engery, nothing about him seemed to be changing.
The Rose/Doctor reunion is intended to play on the cliche, of course- you think either "Aww, how sweet" or "Oh, dear, are they really doing that?", and then there's a Dalek. Lovely.
This is the fear i mentioned, how are they going to resolve this.
and as said, weve seen the xmas special so 10 is still our current doctor.
Just hope we dont get a reset but cleverly done explanation.

Sometimes I worry that I like episodes that don't feature Tennant a little too much he and donna were a bit on the periphery here but who cares! The Stolen Earth is, IMO, better than TSOD and LOTTL put together, when RTD is on form he is on form!

Just for once could we have a regeneration scene that didn't take place in the TARDIS though?

Meant to say as well- having just watched Dalek Invasion of Earth I loved the references in here- The Doctor mentioning that the Daleks had tried to use the Earth as a space ship before, the Daleks line 'Daleks are masters of Earth' etc...fab, and great timing for me!
It pissed me off in the role playing pick a path novels that when you thought you were possibly dead, that if you rolled a six(Or something, I don't remember.) you regenerated but mysteriously kept the same form...
