^ I agree with Starkers other than Jenny, 3 (out of 4) regenerations so far have been in the TARDIS, I guess its the only safe place to film it, if you did it in the street, people would be putting it online within 5 minutes, same goes for the end of series cliff hangers.

I don't know if you have noticed but a large proportion of Who shots are in-doors/in a studio and not in the Tardis.

yeah I did noticed that, but I get the point you are trying to make.

I have only one response:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

This is going to be a long week.

is the above video safe for spoilers?

That isn't available in Australia - must be for UK people only. Youtube are being annoying with videos, as removed lots of episodes of Doctor Who from this season.

So, anyone want to compare that cliffhanger to Best of Both Worlds? Luckily we don't have to wait an entire summer for the conclusion, but jeebus!

That is a huge call. But the episode would rank up their with the greatest sci-fi episodes ever.

In response to those complaining about the Time Lords looking like idiots....this is something new? With the exceptions of the Doctor, the Master, and Romana, they've looked like idiots ever since The Three Doctors.

ETA: Oh, and here's another fanwanky theory about the Doctor's hand - could it lead to the creation of the Valeyard, either now or somewhere down the line? The Master could've been guessing when he explained how the Valeyard and the Doctor were the same person.

I'm assuming the hand will be the source of the realization there's no regeneration to a new actor provided sources call of Tenant being seen in next Christmas production.

Colin Baker couldn't fit into David Tenants wardrobe.

They make a point of saying how thin Davy is all the time.

If the "new" Doctor is regular sized ( the Master looked like he was playing dress up in dads clothes post Jacobi.), he could garotte himself in twelve places then have to instantly re-regenerate.

Come to think of it, how did Colin fit into Davison's wardrobe?

Having given it some thought, I think I know one key scene that will have big repercussions in the finale, but it's a quiet scene that no one's mentioned.

Donna, sitting on the stairs, hearing a heartbeat. The attendant approaches with tea, then says "There is something on your back (or possibly "There was something on your back.). And I'm sorry for your loss. The loss to come".

Mark my words, it'll be pivotal.

btw, it's remarkable that who in its silliness (yeah, I don't find it quantum mechanics), is generating ideas that americans taking it whole seriously in trek never come up with. e.g. in this one, teleporting whole planets somewhere else. brilliant. simple but good.

it's when you ease up a little, ideas get better. like Farscape, less 'serious' than others, but its ideas were remarkable.

What an awesome episode. I'd rate this episode with the best of Trek and Babylon 5's cliffhangers. The BSG season 4 mid-season cliffhanger almost seems anti-climatic after the all the events crammed in this episode. I can't wait until next week (though I am glad to only have to wait a week). NuWho is really setting the bar high this season.

That was the biggest bit of fanwankery I've EVER seen, period.

And it worked, for the most part.

When the Doctor started regenerating, I thought that WAS the season finale and didn't realize there was one episode remaining. Thank goodness for the internet and being able to dig up that there is indeed one more episode this year.

My only complaint about the episode was that they crammed a ton of plot into the 45 minutes they had, making things a bit chaotic and choppy. I realize that chaotic was what they were going for, but I would have preferred to see this expanded to a full hour (like other BBC shows) to ratchet up the tension.

I hope David Tennant isn't leaving just yet, but will be here next week to watch the Who fandom meltdown if he is and the BBC managed to keep it completely under wraps. :D

TNG: The Last Outpost. :)

Yes, because how dare they remove violations of their partner's copyright.

Dalek Khan has never said in his predictions that the Daleks would win or who would die.

While he didn't mention a specific name, he did speak of the death of "the most faithful companion".

I always thought of the Tardis as the most faithful companion to the doctor.
But if it gets destoryed then no more traveling for the Doctor.

Yeah, I think it's the TARDIS which is going to bite it too, which means reset button.

Hells they could reverse the timewar if Caan left a path others can follow... Which would mean, that we're back to McGhan.
