Another below average episode. The inconsistency was even worse than several others from this year. First, who the hell cares about Daleks anymore, they bore me. I was waiting for a clever twist, like, the Daleks being trapped TOGETHER with other worlds so they were attacking out of habit, at the last moment the real vilains behind it, (e.g. the Master) come up "surprise, Daleks, go back to your cage, you're also trapped with the planets", tsk tsk, but why don't they listen to me, they keep making silly scripts. And if that wasn't enough, they also spam the episode with Torchwood and that other Series that I never watched. Who are those people, I don't know them, I don't care, I don't know what they're doing, boring. And wtf with the regenaration again, are they going to change him? but I heard he has contracts for next year too, what's going on. And that old companion, what a bore, not only she was irritating, she's also getting old and doesn't fit with Tenant, and what's wrong with her teeth anyway.

:wtf:

I see your :wtf: and raise you a :scream::wtf::rolleyes::o:borg::p

I don't get this. I wasn't really impressed with the episode either, as it was simply crammed with characters from the past, references to prior events, and an old enemy: A gigantic hodgepodge of continuity porn and "fanwank," to use the term." I thought it was horribly written and pretty weakly directed, too ... the sequence of Rose and the Doctor running towards each other was absolutely ridiculous and needed only some flying doves and church bells to push it over the top.

So that's my opinion. Why do you have to bitch about people who didn't enjoy it?

I think we're supposed to think that sequence was over the top, RTD said he thinks all romances should have that, a dalek coming in at the end and killing them off.

And I don't think they're bothered about people holding that opinion, just that post was hard to read, and tobindax appears to be a troll in this forum, most of his posts here are just weird, or nonsensical.

Very good point, no matter if you thought the episode was the best thing since sliced bread or you hated it you should be able to post your opinions without them somehow being vilified, another reason why i don't like these visible polls because it will stop some people posting their true opinions especially if they god forbid did not like the episode.

Funnily enough, I totally understand any dislike of this episode and agree with the reasoning behind the dislike. But at the same time, I loved the episode. Weird.

:D

For the love of stopwatches, why in the hell were Ianto and Gwen firing machine guns at the Daleks when they're surrounded by frickin' ALIEN TECHNOLOGY?!

I guess Jack took the only BFG in the joint.

(Loved the episode overall, of course, and I'm looking forward to the finale. I missed the Torchwood team more than I thought, so it was a bonus to see them there - I've been avoiding spoilers, so I didn't know they'd have such a prominent role in the episode.)
I thought that too:confused:

I was thinking the same thing during that scene.

I was too distracted by butch!Ianto.
*snort* Too bad he didn't use his husky voice again. :p

But yeah - Torchwood London had a big-ass gun that could shoot an alien ship out of the sky, but Torchwood Cardiff (who supposedly scavenged the ruins of Torchwood London) only has one BFG capable of blowing the lid off a Dalek? That's a disgrace. I thought you were 'arming the human race', Harkness.

Over night ratings are in

Maybe Jack keeps all the big guns in his safe and didn't leave them the key!

Well personally I was joking around with smilies - though that rant which prompted the original :wtf: could have used some paragraph breaks.

I'm sure that people are not scared of posting their opinions because they might be pelted with ridicule - surely that is the point of posting anonymously, so no personal ridicule can be used?

I am sure every opinion here is considered equally valid, but that has to include being of the opinion that another's opinion is stupid doesn't it?

every person's opinion is valid. that doesn't mean they're right...

yeah, i agree about the G-36s...

(Most Over Used Prop in the Whoniverse, at least the US UNIT troopers had M-16s, even if they were A1s and not the newer A2s or even the A3...)

I don't think any one is particularly bothered about his opinion. No body has heaped scorn and insult upon TerriO or any of the other posters who didn't care for the episode.
It's more for the fact tobindax seems to have been trolling the forum, and the post was badly constructed, that anyone responded badly to the post.

I'm entirely too accustomed to being scorned for my opinions in the SG forum, anyway. Besides, I did think "Stolen Earth" was better than "Midnight," but mostly in the sense that a root canal is better than open heart surgery.

When it worked, it worked really well. The Torchwood scenes felt like an episode of Torchwood, and the SJA scenes felt like SJA, up until the deer in headlights bit. But on that front, I thought it worked brilliantly. When it failed, it failed spectacularly (witness, the "Dear God I'm going into a diabetic coma" street scene with the Doctor and Rose, yeah, I hated that bit only a whole lot). Unfortunately, it failed more than it worked for me, and it failed with more of the Doctor's scenes than anyone else's. Curious. :vulcan:

I know the writer shouldn't really have to tell you his intention, but I believe that scene was supposed to be over the top, with RTD's comment about that scene, and how all romances should end with the Dalek appearing and killing them off.

Am I the only one going to fess up that they liked that scene? Stupid Dalek with its bad timing.
