That makes a lot of sense. In fact, I'm surprised no one else (myself included) thought of that sooner.

Well, actually I did mention it and specifically said the possibility of the vanishing planets. While I didn't mention their home planet, it is a logical possibility.

I was actually more wondering if perhaps it's not a specific planet that was destroyed. If they're spread all over *every* planet then the idea of a home planet becomes less meaningful. Perhaps it's due to a series of planets being destroyed and the shadows congregating elsewhere?

Ah, damn. I missed that post. Sorry about that. :o

Or maybe they're like locusts (or Nimons) who travel from planet to planet and The Doctor was just cover over a period of time.

I thought maybe Kal was the girl's name.

The Girl is the Security Computer for the library.

It was said so dozens of times.

but there's more to it.

What sort of computer?

And is Cal an Acronym?

It might even be a distant relation to Heuristically programmed ALgoruthmic Computer 9000.

Although how would Air Piranha's adjust with suddenly living on a planet that's drowning in air-meat? As in the clone feed the Sontarian's tried to flood the earth with.

Aye, but it's also short for Caroline, isn't it? They never gave us a first name for the girl.

The dad didn't get name either. Makes me wonder if there's any significance to Dr. Moon's name.

I thought it was ok.. I really don't like to come to a conclusion about multi-parters until I've actually seen the whole story and basically, with this one, I found it all pretty confusing really (although interesting) and am waiting for part 2 to hopefully make sense of it all. It seemed a bit rushed, and incoherent, but maybe that's just me..

I may be proven wrong but I actually have full confidence that Moffatt will bring this together at the end. Which is really rare these days.

"They're the dust in the sun beams" :guffaw:

Excellent, i bet the parents of the country are now well and truly pissed at the BBC for that one.

I thought it was fantastic. When they said "it'll pray on your most primal fear of the dark" i thought it was gonna be subtle, but dude was i mistaken.

Just that quote from Steven or RTD, cant remember which in the Confidential brought it all to light, pun inteneded.

Everyone has a primal fear of the dark, and to make that reason because of an entity that is always/sometimes present wherever whenever is just inspired.

and to base an entire story and a possible reason/explanation as to why some ceatures fear the dark, and a good reason/explanation by use of an entity/being at that, was genius.

And the skeleton in the suit with the Vashta Nerada walking the suit along was just creepy.

And the Proper Dave and Other Dave names were excellent. A truly inspired way to name more than one person with identical names.

"It's a good old-fashioned lurching zombie, except in a space suit. Fantastic!"

I do like RTD. He's just so enthusiastic about everything.

And slightly reminiscent of the Spooky Space Kook from Scooby Doo.

Cephalic is a nice word. Augmented fits in nicely. though the L could be just about bloody anything.

How do the space suits from Ambassadors of Death compare?

Maybe the planets moon has a diagnostics computer for the library's computer?
Ooh...I like that idea...
Yeah, I actually thought of something along the lines (I actually the main database was on the moon) but I dismissed it as silly. :p

I just wonder if there's something a little more twisty though. That does seem like a decent conclusion but I wonder if there will be more to the story.

Lux has to play into it somehow and I'm still not sure why River Song would have called the Doctor here before she actually ran into danger.
