I have a medical question about the GSW victim.
We had “complete central nervous system shutdown” and apparent brain death. That means no heartbeat, no blood flow, and no oxygen getting to the brain.
Strange says during surgery that it had been 10 minutes since Dr. West called brain death. That seems impossibly fast, but let’s go with it and assume the brain was deprived of oxygen for about 15 minutes.
How bad would the brain damage be? Are we talking a Terri Schiavo situation, or is there hope for a real recovery?
