I haven't come across a big release like this that wasn't available on disc from Netlfix, and as for streaming, they did add Civil War a couple months ago, so I wouldn't be Dr. Strange was added eventually too.

Here's hoping that Disney sees the light and eventually releases Doctor Strange (as well as the other Marvel films), on 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray soon. They're about the only major movie studio that hasn't jumped on that train yet. Until then, I'll wait. I don't want to double dip if I can help it.

I finally saw this movie and I really think it was one of the stronger outings from Marvel. The visuals were fantastic and, although the story was pretty much straightforward I loved the sense of world building and adding to the Marvel universe. I imagine that most of the first part of the story took place over several years, but missed the Iron Man reference early in the movie. I agree with some of the negatives people posted early in the thread but for me the sheer sense of fun and likeability of the characters far outweighed them.

Finally saw it myself. I've noticed people describe it as "Magic Iron Man", but I was actually more reminded of another superhero movie, the plot is basically the same as the one in Green Lantern... a cocky guy gets inducted into an ancient order of protectors and has to use his newfound magic/constructs to confront a villain who's actually working for a bigger villain who's a giant cloud thing and then the whole ordeal makes a trusted ally turn to the dark side in the post credits scene...

The only difference is... this is getting a sequel :p

I'm one of the few who liked Green Lantern (for the most part). I like the analogy. I also got a strong Dr. House vibe from the character.

I think what I liked most about this movie was that it wasn't as serious as I thought it was going to be. I enjoyed the humor as much as the Inception like special effects. I also got a kick out of the James Kirk-style of victory that Strange pulled out of his a** at the end. I don't know a lot of the "deep cuts" behind Strange's back story in the comics so I think that that played a big part in my enjoyment of the movie. With most of the other movies I spent a lot of mental time comparing the movies with the comics, but in this movie, like Ant Man, I was able to just enjoy the show for what it was.

Yes it did. At least for me. For me, the quality of the screenplay for "Doctor Strange" seemed to be on the same level of 2011's "The Green Lantern". I don't regard either movie as terrible. But for me, both were entertaining, yet mediocre.

I thought that Dr. Strange was a very solid, entertaining movie (definitely better then GL, although I don't hate that movie). One thing I definitely liked is while the main villain was weak, the way they set up Mordo means he'll probably be a fairly strong villain in the sequel. I also liked Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, I think she was a great fit for the roll, even if Marvel got some complaints about her casting.

Overall it was a fun movie with good characters. Not my favorite Marvel movie, but another very good one.

Finally saw it this weekend. It had the proper mix of humor and drama to be enjoyable and entertaining. Benny Cummerbun was perfect in the role. I got really tired of the architectural illusions after a while. But that was the only negative.

Finally watch it last night and really enjoyed it. Is there definitely going to be a sequel or is that just the plan at the moment?

^ And as it's the most successful "MCU single character first movie", I think a sequel just might be on the cards. :)

I'm usually very skeptical of announcements made on or around April 1st (I've already seen two announcements for the beginning of production for Iron Man 4), but I don't see anything particularly April Fool-y about this particular announcement, so I'll bite. If it's wrong, it's wrong.

Nightmare planned to be the villain for Doctor Strange 2.

I've heard the Nightmare suggestion before but I forget who on the production team said it, although it was probably Cargill. I'm inclined to believe this report since it doesn't actually promise the sequel is happening, just what would happen if it is greenlit.

Hmm, I wonder if they'd be willing to get Robert Englund to do Nightmare's voice if this got greenlit.

Cumberbatch recently said that there were no immediate signs of a sequel: http://www.denofgeek.com/uk/movies/...nedict-cumberbatch-confirms-no-sign-of-sequel
He also said in that same article that Marvel's plan was continually in flux so he couldn't really speculate. He does seem to be very good about keeping a tight lid on what he's allowed to tell people and what he isn't; we saw an example of that when he was doing press interviews for Infinity War alongside Tom Holland, where he quickly took the reins any time a potentially sensitive, can't-talk-about-this topic came up. You can also refer back to his days doing Into Darkness publicity when he did a good job of deflecting any suggestions that he was playing Khan even though it was pretty obvious to everyone.

We probably also won't hear any official greenlights until after Infinity War debuts at the end of the month.
