Do you wake up to pee in the middle of the night?

Yeah, I do several time a week, but I tend to drink a lot of water at night.

Not very often. Usually when it does happen, it's because I didn't go before I went to bed that night.

I used to, but then I was drinking a pot of tea before bed. Now it doesn't happen. And I always sit down to pee at home - the ring causes a bit of rollback, you see...

Yes, often. I'm diabetic, though.

And that's down to you running your sugars high.

When mine are low, I almost never need to use the toilet and sometimes forget to have a drink, when they are high, moderately or massively, I drink far more and piss more. Luckily, my control is good and I vary rarely need to go.

Aside from what I eat, my blood sugar is uncontrolled, so that's probably why it happens.

Oh, and I'm on a diuretic. It doesn't always increase the amount of urine (no water weight loss either), but increases the number of times I have to pee--and it really increases the urgency. Annoying to really have to go, but when I do, it's hardly anything. Kinda insulting.

I almost never have to get up in the middle of the night to pee. However, it is always the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning, without fail.

Man, that would really bother me... I hate having my slumber interrupted, largely because I find it so hard to go back to sleep.

Never.

Interestingly--and perhaps horrifyingly--I found out last fall during a routine MRI on my spine that my bladder can hold 1300ccs of liquid. My doctor thinks it has something to do with a spine injury, and I am waiting to see a Urologist in June to find out the exact cause.

But I always win when another man challenges me at he urinals.

Sorry but what? Are you type one or two? To be honest, if you're the former, that is the most stupid thing I've read in a while around these parts. If the latter then, good for you, but it would seem just from your first statement and from what else you've said in other threads, that's not working at all.

I must ask, is it the price issues that restricts you from controlling your blood sugars as better control equals better standard of living, less chance of complications which would then mean less of a drain on medical care in the future which would be far bigger than a few viles of insulin, a blood tester and something to inject the blood every once in a while.

I'm Type II, and no, it's not working as well as I'd like.

It is price. My medications for control are outrageous and unaffordable. My doctor tried to help by giving me samples as often as he could, but it became more difficult for him to get them. I applied for PPX assistance but was turned down, oddly enough. I don't have insurance, and can't get insurance, so for now, this is how I have to control it.

Christ on a bike. Really? That is seriously fucked up on multiple levels.

This actually reminds me, I need to head to the pharmacy and sort my free prescription out as I'm running low on both my Insulins.

Welcome to healthcare in the United States.

I try to have my last bottle of water at least 2 hours before going to bed. Since I've been doing that, it never happens.
