Do you think Dr Korby was having sex with Andrea?

I agree that Andrea is likely the result of Korby's early work with the machine. However, is it possible Andrea was a member of the expedition as well?

You make a good argument that she was. One wonders what sort of an expedition it was originally... Supposedly Korby's party was dropped on the surface to follow some sort of an obscure lead, stumbled around in the icy wilderness for a while, and then signaled the discovery of underground caverns and subsequently vanished. According to Kirk's log, the original expedition was at the point of perishing and only survived because it found the caverns.

So we might speculate that the only three survivors, Andrea, Brown and Korby, crawled into the caverns, found the miracles, and then quickly created android bodies for themselves before the flesh ones perished from the original exposure effects. But I'd still like to think that Korby wasn't mortally wounded yet when first entering the caves or when creating Andrea, because it would make more sense if he remained coherent, able-bodied and free to experiment with the machinery.

If he was, he sure didn't need a condom...

I'm going to have to go back and rewatch these finer details from the plot, I was too busy eyeing up Andrea. And I usually think about the best (worst) from plots involving sex.

One thing, if Andrea was a member of the original team, why is she act so stilted? Was she the first to undergo the process and perhaps an imperfect copy? Or perhaps Korby had ideas about being alone and dumbed her down, cutting out a bit of her intellect and emotion to make her more compliant.

It's not as if Dr Brown was the sparkling centerpiece of social interaction, either. Perhaps both were early and imperfect attempts. Or perhaps both involved mental reprogramming instead of mere blind copying, which resulted in rather simplified products. The more extensively you reprogram (i.e. sex kitten out of the clever xenobiologist who was the true brains of the team), the more you lose of the original nuances.

It could be that the "original" Brown and Andrea were either dying or already dead from hypothermia and Korby's copy could only do so much with the machinery to "salvage" them.

Admit it.

Some of you in here would do a toaster with a blonde wig and fake eyelashes on it.

Who played Andrea? Is she still alive? Are there any pictures of what she looks like today?

Personally I do, why else would he build her to be so pretty? And even if it was just coincidence at first there's no way he'd be able to resist no matter how loyal he felt to Nurse Chapel.

Sherry Jackson is now 66 years old. She started as a child actress, but was famous for her role as one of the children on Make Room for Daddy in the '50s. When she did WALGMO for Star Trek, she was 24 years old. Her last rle was back in the '80s.

My God, she was Terry on Make Room For Daddy, wasn't she? I've never made that connection before. Crazy. I loved that show, although she had a very small role. The other kid, Rusty, was a stronger character.

Thanks, Kagan. :)

Here are some screen caps of Sherry from guest spots on two episodes of the 1950's "The Gene Autry Show" (from the Westerns Channel).
