Do you lock your door when you are at home?

1) Do you lock your door when you are home during the day? Yep. I live in a boarding house, and the door to my bedroom is always locked when I'm inside my room.
2) Do you ever forget to lock your door at night? Once or twice
3) Do you keep your windows shut during the day? Yep
4) Do you ever leave windows open at night? Yep

I only lock my home when I'm not there or when I'm sleeping. I often leave windows open on the second floor during the spring and summer when it's nice out even if I'm not home. We live in a very active subdivision and I have good neighbours who are always around, have kids playing outside, etc. Very low crime rate, mostly just mischief. B&E's happen occasionally but when they do it's big news around here and it's always petty stuff as opposed to someone getting their house cleaned out, there's no way someone could get away with it.

I personally don't tend ot lock the doors when I'm in but my Mother (who I live with) does to the extenct that she often forgets to take the key out of the lock when I am out and she is in.

I have forgotten to lock my door at night but that's because I'm forgetfull.

Leaving your bedroom window open when it's hot personally doesn't seem that bad to me.

I live on a boat. When I'm tied off, only other people with marina memberships are allowed past the gate.

other than that, I'm out on the water and it's just really not much of a concern.

My place is never locked - whether I'm there or not. Same thing with my car - and the keys are in it all the time. My windows are closed during the summer because it's the Florida Keys and it's hot; the air conditioner is running 24-7. Windows are usually open in the winter except during our rare cold spells.

Been here 11 years. Never had a problem. I don't even have a dull-edge batleth, nevermind an automatic weapon.

I live in LA and a quickly shut/locked door quite possibly saved my life last year, so its a given I'm going to lock every last deadbolt I have. Although it is kind of pointless, seeing that the key to my friend's apartment across town happens to fit my lock and vice versa! If it's that coincidental, imagine how many other keys out there happen to fit the (crappy, mass market rental-cheap) locks on my door.

Answers in order:

1. Who wants to know?
2. I have a gun
3. Why do you ask?
4. See number two.
