Do you get dressed

On weekends and days off work, sometimes I'll hang around in my underwear until I shower and get dressed in mid-afternoon. But I'd never go outside in pajamas or a bathrobe, even if it's just to go to the building's laundry room. That's just tacky.

BTW, right now I'm naked. :)

I get dressed at some point every day, but I work from home so I'm likely to sit around in my underwear on hot days. But even then, I'll be out before or after work. I certainly always get dressed to go out, including shoes. One time I had to go across the street to mail something at about 5am and I figured I'd just go in my slippers-- then I tripped on the sidewalk on the way back and broke my toe. Not gonna do that again :rommie:

And I definitely take a shower every day. Not that I get especially dirty, but I just enjoy a nice, hot shower. :mallory:

Do I get dressed?...Why, yes...yes I do...and here is how...

How to Dress HIjol

Step 1

Sanitize all cooking surfaces, utensils and hands with soap and hot water before handling HIjol. You should wash your hands for at least 20 seconds to eliminate any bacteria.

Step 2

Avoid cross-contamination by keeping HIjol and his juices separate from other food. Use a specific cutting board and utensils while dressing HIjol.

Step 3

Remove the entrails from the cavity of HIjol with your hands. You may need to make a small cut between the thighs to enter the cavity. Some people choose to save the giblets -- kidney, heart and gizzard -- to add into soups or gravy.

Step 4

Cut the neck and tear area off and discard any excess fat. (There will be a LOT!)

Step 5

Rinse HIjol inside and out, under cold water. Washing him doesn't destroy any bacteria but it helps to remove any excess blood, fat or feathers. (HIjol is arboreal!)

Step 6

Dry HIjol with paper towels before seasoning. This process helps to produce a brown, crispy skin.

Step 7

Refrigerate or cook HIjol immediately after dressing. Leaving the raw meat at room temperature promotes bacterial growth.

Things You'll Need
Hot water
Soap
Cutting board
Knife
Airline "Barf Bag?"

...what with above procedure and all, as you can imagined I do not get out much...

...from time to time I DO crack myself up! ;)

I work at home, narrating audiobooks in my walk-in closet-slash-recording studio. Because there's no airflow in there it gets quite hot, so I'm usually reading the books wearing nothing more than my boxer shorts.

I got dressed for the first time in a week yesterday, and had no problem popping out to get the mail or receiving visitors in my pajamas. However I just had a baby, so I get a pass on a lot of stuff. Generally I dress every day just to make myself feel better and more motivated to do the things I need to do.

Wrong type of dressing HIjol though if I ever become a cannibal, at least I'll know how to cook you.

I have some homewear (that I also wear when I sleep) that is nice and comfortable enough to wear around the house all day, so I do not "get dressed" if for some reason I stay in all day. However, I also have some more "traditional" PJs that I do not like wearing around all day. If I happen to wear these during the night, I will at least change to a t-shirt or something even if I'm staying in.

When I'm hanging around the house, I typically just wear a t-shirt and gym shorts, but I never wear those out anywhere. I'll typically wear a polo shirt, or at least a nice t-shirt and some cargo shorts, or jeans.

As soon as I get home from work every day I put my PJs on. I also wear them all weekend, unless I have to go out (which being the homebody that I am, I usually don't). Comfort in clothing is very important to me. However if I am going out for anything more than getting the mail, I do get dressed.

I live by myself, if that makes any difference.

As to the second question, if I am just sitting in my PJs all day then I usually don't shower, unless it's a really hot day and I've been sweating. Since I work five days a week this means that Saturday is usually the only day I might not shower.

I'm home most days, working from my home office, and I'm alone---about 12 hours before hubby gets home. So, yeah, many days, I won't get dressed; I'll just lounge around in pjs or sweats. But I always shower---always. Every single day. I feel gross and dirty if I don't.

For example, today there's no work and hubby is off at his job. I'm home alone, in my pjs. I am going to out, in some old capris and a T shirt, when it cools off--after 5pm--and do some serious yard work--spreading mulch and hauling sacks of dirt around. I'm not going to shower until AFTER I've done all that dirty work.

I have never been out in my pjs; the mere idea horrifies me. I see people in the grocery store in what appears to be their pajamas and I'm stunned by it.

do you just longe around in your underwear/pyjamas/nightie/dressing gown?

Have you ever gone out wearing your pyjamas?

Normally I dress (unless I decide to spend the day in bed).
In summer when it's very hot in my apartment I tend to go in the buff. It's also a recommendable attire when cooking something that leaves irremovable stains (beetroots, cherry juice, blueberry compote and the like).

I go to the letter box, 2 stories down, in my dressing gown if I'm ill. Else I always dress when leaving my flat. Don't want to traumatize my neighbours :D

@HIjol: I'd rather have imagined you with a nice herbal dressing. A light chervil vinaigrette, for example. Or how about olive oil, a pinch of salt, freshly ground pepper and the juice and zest of an orange? And a sprig of peppermint, perhaps?
Or lemon juice and a drizzle of acacia honey?

Yowza!...all of the above, and shut the front door!

...all this zesting and spriging and pinching and drizzling is making me hungry...and also giving me an Idea for a New Thread, hitherto unposted, I beleive...
