Do you fast forward through the theme song?

I almost always do, especially if I'm binging. I do so for most shows with longer credit sequences, but Trek shows are longer than most--DS9's is over a minute and a half.

If I watch two episodes a night, that's 45 or so extra minutes a month.

A lot of times I do. But not because I don't like them. I just want to get on with the story faster.

Although Enterprise is probably my least favorite of all of the shows. I think the theme is appropriate. They are showing scenes about the history of exploration (and not just space exploration). The song, IMO, fits with that.

I have two very young children who stop anything they might be doing to watch the entirety of Enterprise's theme, so I'm kinda obligated.

I haven't seen Enterprise yet, but my sister and I grew up as TNG was coming out, and we loved that theme (I know I still do). Anyway, we loved it so much, when it came on, my sister and I would go to opposite sides of the living room, and hold our arms out in a circle with the tips of one hand touching the other, mimicking the saucer of the ship. Then, when the ship would zoom by in the intro we would run across the room, again mimicking the ship each time.

I guess what I'm saying is, Wetworth, is that my parents probably felt the same as you, lol

I'm the complete opposite.

I never fast forward through the intro, don't think I've done it once yet throughout the whole of TOS and five seasons of TNG. I always watch through the credits too.

Maybe I'm just weird.

The Voyager theme is very uplifting and the TOS theme is neat and spacey. I enjoy them.
I fully agree about Voyager. It's my favorite of all of them.

I've never liked TNG's theme. Why didn't they come up with something new instead of ripping off the one for TMP?

I felt like Goldsmith's theme was criminally underused throughout the film franchise up until TNG. I was delighted to see it brought back for the TNG intro, which is still quite different from the TMP version. It definitely personified TNG well as a show.

Good thing they used the one we know on TNG, there was another one first, but it was changed...

I fast forward through them all. Some I like better than others but that doesn't matter when I have already watched them so many time they are seared into my brain. I want to watch the show, not the same thing over and over again.

I much prefer the grand cinematic orchestral theme of Star Trek: The Motion Picture to the abbreviated, synth-heavy amalgam that was used on TNG.

If I'm watching a show, I watch the whole show.
So do I for the most part. But there are times when I'll hit the forward button on my DVD remote and skip the credits, but those times are rare depending on my mood.

Reportedly, Gene Roddenberry liked the theme from TMP so much that when they were later preparing TNG he requested it be used for that shows' theme. Personally, I thought that what Dennis McCarthy came up with and put on the Farpoint soundtrack as a bonus theme was better. While I don't hate the TMP theme, it always sounded more like something an 1890's Barbershop Quartet would come up with rather than a theme for a science fiction movie.

I think the TMP theme is perfect if you're trying to sell an upbeat sci-fi universe.

I know what you mean, Kor. While I like the TNG version, the TMP version does blow it away, and in fact that whole score is what carries that movie.

I was lucky enough many years ago to hear Jerry Goldsmith conduct a live orchestra durung a UK tour, and hearing the TMP theme live during a Trek suite that they played was just amazing

I don't much care for the TOS, DS9 or Voyager themes, but I definitely would not fast forward through the TNG theme.

My favorite out of all of them, though, is the Mirror Universe version of ENT's credits:
