Do you ever dye your hair?

Miss Chicken

And if you do/have

What colour is your natural hair and what colours have you dyed it to?

Do you do it at home or do you have it done professionally?

Myself - I have never had my hair dyed professionally but I have had friends do it for me. My normal colour is dark brown and I like to change it to black. Once a friend talked me into changing it to burgundy but I hated it.

I'm naturally (before I started to go gray) a light brownish auburn.

I've dyed my hair, over the years since 13:

gold blonde
yellow blonde
white blonde
strawberry blonde
red
violet/red
black/red
dark auburn
light auburn
black
pink
dark brown
light brown

 I'm an ex-hairstylist...I changed my hair colour every few months or so ;)

I'm currently a medium brown/auburn...to cover they gray more than anything!

I dyed it blue in college! I love the natural color of my hair, though. It's naturally numerous shades of brown, from dark chestnut to golden. It's naturally very, very thick -- enough so that every stylist I've ever had has made comments about how much there is -- and it's healthy and shiny. I'm a very self-conscious person, and don't always feel good about my appearance, be my hair is something I do like about myself, and I don't think I'll dye it again any time soon.

I haven't. I do occasionally think about either going blond just to freak people out, or shaving it all off.

I am growing a beard at the moment though. I got my hair cut recently and noticed that it now sort of looks like a bit like Riker's in mid-series TNG, so I figured I might as well grow a beard out while the weather's cold anyway. That's the extent of my hair excitement right now. :D

After radiation and chemo and losing my hair twice I'm just happy to have it back. So no dyeing for me.

I'm having trouble imagining you with a beard! Usually I'm against beards, but I'm guessing you wouldn't wear one unless you knew you could pull it off.

I'm considering growing out my hair. I've had a bob for over 7 years now, and it may be time for a change. I'm keeping the bangs, but I'm aiming for a mid-back length. My hair grows very fast, but my mood changes even faster, so we'll see if my resolve lasts long enough to make a difference in the length of my hair.

When I was younger, I did. At various points, I've had jet black hair and various shades of red and brown.

Now, however, I'm all natural. My hair is naturally a dark brown, and at 52, I've got maybe 10 gray hairs. And since my hair is straight, it's *really* shiny. So I show off the natural glory.

Of course, it took me 50 years to realize that what God gave me was really better than anything I could turn it into. It did take the wonder that is Natasha to find the perfect cut, tho. :)

Intentional pun? :D

Weirdly, almost everyone really likes it on me! It's only coming up to 2 weeks old now, so isn't really thick yet, but the feedback has been great. Either that, or my face is so ugly, the beard hides enough of it. :D

Don't go chopping and changing your mind, now. :D

Wisdom, and a good stylist. Sounds the ideal lifestyle to me!

I had a few gold/red streaks when I was about 18, but that was a big mistake, although I liked it at the time - god knows what I was thinking! Never since then.

I've never had it professionally dyed, but I have done it at home about four or five times. I naturally have medium brown hair, and when I have dyed it I just added some red to it, so that it looked more auburn. I always hesitate to do it though because it just doesn't feel natural or right. I feel like I am ruining my hair and I get freaky images of the roots on my head being attacked by chemicals. I don't even use hairspray for this reason (though I wouldn't use it anyway, I am very low maintenance with beauty stuff). So I probably won't dye it again for a very long time, if ever.

I did once about 23 years ago. A group of us all dyed our hair jet black/blue. A week later we deployed to sea and shaved our heads. I have not since dyed it. :)

When I was a young man I was a wee bit Punky in appearance - for a while my hair was clipped very short (sometimes shaved) in places, with the rest of the barnet spikily unkempt and dyed jet black from it's natural brown.

But now I'm in my 40's I have a fine and natural mixture of brown and gray - mostly gray and getting grayer all the time, actually - and I like it that way.

:D

I began to grey at a way-too-young age, so I began dying my hair on a regular basis in my mid-20s. Earlier this year, I decided I was old enough to own my grey, so I stopped.

Normal hair color is a mousy brown. Dyed it was a consistent strawberry-blond. Frankly, I miss the dyed color and have been considering starting again simply to get that guy back in the mirror again. ;)

when my hair is really short and is therefore straight, I like to do the black n' blue. You know, the black with the tinge of blue in it.

Any excuse to bust out this, the gayest picture of my life:
