This is a ridiculous comment, people's lives aren't "tactics" in some game. Regardless of the political motivations behind any reveals the reaction should be based on the actual impact of, intent and insight into the behaviour. The world does not operate solely to provide ammunition for people who can't see beyond some ongoing mud slinging match between "the left" and "the right"
 
The right really sees life as a battle and they plan to win by silencing all opposition, they can't handle being questioned or questioning themselves. Probably because they deep down understand that it can't stand up on its own. All they are now is the opposite of the left and have to be against anything they support. It's why they're currently against human rights, the planet itself and having a government does things other than paying billionaires and waging war.
 
Possum, the right doesnt like the government at all. They want zero government interference in their daily lives.

Spot261, to deny that lives arent tactics in a game denies human history. Everything will be used as ammunition for some to achieve their goals. Individuals and masses of humanity will be ground to pulp by those seeking power and control on both a limited and grand scale.

I can't help but think that it was partially people being onto the alt-right now, considering I found more than a few sites reporting on it pointing out that it was coming from right-wing trolls. That and Adult Swim is probably less likely to nuclear over a really shitty joke than Disney would.

You just described libertarians, not republicans. They're the ones who absolutely want no government. Republicans supposedly want limited government or, as others have pointed out, strong government to control people they don't like.

Small government doesn't mean disliking all government, on the contrary it can mean the very opposite, what you are describing are either anarchists or (as already mentioned) libertarians.

In many regards right wing policy tends actually reinforce governmental reach, in terms of law enforcement and military expenditure.

These things are abused as such (as in your post), but that's not what they are inherently. They are real events causing real human consequences and should be seen and judged as such. By posting the way you did you are perpetuating the idea that this is something to be encouraged.

Guess when it comes down to it Gunn shot himself in the foot. So some alt/Right troll found the smoking gun (too much??), but that is shooting the messenger mentality getting annoyed at them. Years ago Gunn was apparently trying to provoke a reaction.

He's got it - fired.

No, they want it out of their lives and to force it on others, namely women, LGBTQ people, any state that passes medical or recreational marijuana laws and a host of others. Really they want you to be free to do as they say.

Now they’re even passing laws that claim discrimination is a religious right. So don’t tell me that they don’t want the government in my life. They do, they’ve made it clear that they don’t think I belong here and will do anything to achieve that.

It's amazing how people seem to claim they are in favor of greater freedoms when actually what they mean is taking a very specific set of freedoms to the extreme.

Freedom to own a firearm? Check
Freedom to perform oral sex? Meh, not so hot on that one.

Freedom to express any opinion you like? Check
Freedom to express your sexuality and gender preference? That's anti American surely?
 
The whole situation is very sad to me, because I see the things that people on both sides of the political spectrum say about the other side, and they are practically the same, just with different priorities for which values are most important. The other side is trying to enforce rules on everyone in a draconian fashion, while "our side" just wants to be left alone, and keep the weak from being taken advantage of.

I'm pretty conservative myself (though I'm a little afraid to say that given some of the appalling things that have become attached to that label), and I don't like this game of going hunting for buried tweets to incite an emotional reaction to get people fired when it's done to a liberal any more than when it's done to a conservative.

Because all that will happen is more grudges, and escalation, and there's no end to it.

This world is tough enough-- we can disagree about what's most important, but there's no point to making everyone miserable just to one-up the other side in an argument.
