That's not remotely the same. What you and your friends did is part of the game objective done in privacy. What Gunn did was very public over the course of several years. Further, I presume you and your friends didn't mean those things while Gunn did at the time.

You said Gunn meant it? what do you mean by that? he supports or hold beliefs from his jokes? thus making him a Sex Offender right if my understanding is right?

Why does saying something in private mean our jokes are ok and are only jokes but he does it on Twitter makes it worse and make them more than jokes.

Check out the lyrics for the song "Last Caress" by Metallica. I think they still perform it too...

Trolling is a type of humor. If he "meant it" that would means he supports rape and pedophelia.

So? Tastless, horrible jokes are still tasteless and horrible.
Besides, no one is accusing him of being supportive of rape and pedophelia. What asshole would be in support of rape?
Calling it trolling doesn't make him any less of an asshole for posting the material.

Which is why they are so hated by many. They have no clue, or are willfully ignorant of, what happens in real life

Really, people in the entertainment business are hated "by many"?
People in the entertainment industry come from all over the country, come from all walks of life. They know what happens in real life.
The only difference is: they lead their lives in the public view.
Gunn wasn't the only asshole in this country to make those jokes, to make those jokes on twitter. He was caught because 1. he's famous and 2. because he made them.

By many, I meant registered US voters. The right hates them with all their heart, and that certainly spills to the commoners. I suppose I'm looking at all of this through more of a political viewpoint.

I wonder if more stories are going to pop up over the coming weeks like this. How many Twitter accounts are being scanned right now for outrage material on both the left & right.

Republicans probably but they don't account for a majority.
Hard right, probably between 15-35%. However, most voting Americans do lean right... and that translates to votes against "Hollywood". Gunn type comments give ammo to the right. I hate that and it needs to be squashed. This shit, from politically active people, impacts elections.

However, most voting Americans do lean right

I've got a 3 million vote gap in 2016 that state otherwise ;)

Don't they say generally 40% identify for either party and the other 20% are flexible? I swear I've heard that come every election cycle.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers. The numbers that matter though, are Electoral. 3 million means nothing. The Supreme Court shows that. The voters that matter, lean right. Pennsylvania, Ohio... You can't give ammo.

But you said most American lean right, so in that scenario we are counting individuals (popular vote) surley so electoral maths is a different issue. In both 2014 & 2016 more votes were cast for the Left but due to gerrymandering (2014) & EC (2016) the majority view wasn't upheld.

Sorry getting off point anyway.

Popular, until changed via the Senate & House and signed by the Pres, means nothing. Non voters are meaningless dolts.

But what I mean is your statement was
most voting Americans do lean right.
the only way to judge that statement is based off the popular vote and the left gets more votes (or did in 2014 & 2016 despite losing) so surley most Americans actually lean left (who gets power by what system is a different issue) but again that's more of a topic for TNZ not in the Sci Fi section.

You would be right... if popular vote determined our President. It doesn't. Pennsylvania, long considered solid left... went Rep. The swing vote leans right. Non voters are meaningless. I hate it, but it is what it is.
