News Discovery Twitter & Social Media Thread

I haven't liked most of the promos/trailers/teasers from Discovery thus far, but I gotta say, this one is pretty damn cool. I like it.

They've all been excellent in my book, with this one and the 2 which include starfleet's mantra as my favorites.

My problem with the initial trailers is Sonequa's delivery of dialog. It doesn't sound convincing. It just doesn't work. She's sounds like a kid. Comparatively, this dude Chris Obi that plays T'Kuvma sounds great.

Also, in the trailers it looks like they didn't have much footage to pull clips from. It looks like it's all taken from the same episode.

I haven't noticed any problems with the delivery at all, but what I WOULD like to start seeing is a few 2 min clips of scenes with the actors on talk shows so I can get a better look at her acting.

RAMA

A lot of the dialogue we're hearing in the trailers is either recorded simply for them, or edited heavily, or not yet undergone the final audio editing for the final print. None of the sound effects so far have been the final ones at all, neither are all the visual effects finished.

Judgeing the quality from low pass chopped up marketing material isn't the best idea.

That ship with all the wings looks like the crest of the Romulan Star Empire.

Kevlin-timeline confirmed!

But in seriousness, I'm starting to like how the Klingon ships drop out of warp to a stop.

This unlocked promo illustrates something I've been discussing in social media. The early promotional trailers all have early or temp sfx. This latest one finally shows off some of the polished work. Note the finer detail and grainyness of the black hole debris, and the more detailed Klingon ships.
