Of course TNG rates lesser than TOS.
No, all the Pissed off TNG fans are doing that.
Paying for CBS all access is not the reason why I like the Orville more than Discovery. I can follow Orville easier than this reimagined STD. I'm not the only trekkie that thinks Orville is more entertaining. I WILL continue to watch STD because I truly hope it looses the fantasy drive and Klingon as a second language class.

Tng was truer to what Trek was and is supposed to be. Discovery just plain stinks. The Orville is far superior

So far I think Discovery is very solid, and a more serious adventure drama.
It's too different from the Orville for me to call it comparable, i mean being in space isn't enough. STD stands apart from most trek and stands on it's own. Orville, is just plain funny.
I love change, partly why I like both.
if I was told to pick one, and the other get removed from TV, i'd have to choose STD.
People certainly didn't feel that way when TNG first aired. In fact all the criticism being thrown at Discovery isn't that much different than the criticism toward the early days of TNG.
Well, The Orville has had five episodes, and four of them were complete ripoffs of Star Trek episodes, so saying you like that show more just means you like shows that are "safe".
Used some elements does not equal complete ripoff. Hell, by the days of VOY/ENT, Star Trek was recycling its historic plot lines extensively. There's only so many SFnal concepts you can use within the confines of a Star-Trek like universe.
VOY is way different from TNG and TOS, it is a star ship stuck in the middle of unknown territory that is trying to come home. Discovering new aliens, finding new technology, the rights of AI and dealing with the borg is just a side effect of it.

Whether or not they were "better" is a matter of opinion. I do not think they were "better", mainly because I want original material.
