Alidar Jarok: Yeah well, that is why it's my dirty little secret. I've got Green Day fan practically stamped on my forehead. I've had a crush on Billie Joe since I was eleven. The Lady Gaga thing comes from a time when I sort of got out of a low and partied a lot, and I like to think about that time.
I do get some shit from people about the Green Day thing, "bla bla, not punk, they sold out, wannabe emos" etc etc. It's all bollocks, really. Love them to death, love the latest album.
This hate for having become mainstream is something I don't get. I mean, I love them, if they failed it would make me sad beyond belief. Don't people want their beloved bands to be heard by millions of people? It's not their fault they write stuff that's popular.
It all started when they released Dookie, and the same thing happened with American Idiot. I got called traitor in a forum once because Green Day have a political agenda, apparently. How ridiculous is that? And I'm not even American.
It is turning into guilty pleasures. Do you remember Holdfast's anonymous confessions thread? People PMd him and he posted them on the thread. The only drawback in this was that then Holdfast knew everybody's horrible secrets and proceeded to make a fortune in blackmail. He's good at evil master plans.
I have Bad Romance stuck in my head right now, and I didn't even listen to it today! I don't even mind it too much. Yet.
