Difference between Holodeck and Holosuite

It's like using the name 'Landing Party' vs. 'Away Team.' Both are doing the same thing (beaming to somewhere) and consists of a group taking the action.

Too, given what we know of Quark...'holosuite' sounds like a place where one would do 'naughty' things vs. a 'holodeck' which sounds like normal...business.

Suite sounds fancy. Like a hotel suite as opposed to a hotel room. I suspect holosuites might be larger with a wider range of programs. Still the same tech, though.

What's the difference between a head and a latrine? What's the difference between the shore patrol and the military police? What's the difference between an admiral and a general?

They are the exact same product made by different manufacturers hence the different name.

Or... a holodeck needs a gigawatt of electricity to run and a holosuite needs 1.21 gigawatts to run.

1.21 gigs watts!!! Great Scott!!

I kinda assumed a holosuite was a collection of holodecks. So basically if there's more than one holodeck in one area then its a suite of holodecks.

Different ranking in different organizations.
Right. So when Starfleet puts a holodeck in a starship, it's a holodeck. When Quark puts it in a mostly stationary civilian station, it's a holosuite. There don't have to be differences in functionality, there's just differences in how they're used. Training and free recreation for a crew vs. to make money for Quark.

I would assume the main difference is Holodecks were 10x the cost of Holosuites due to Government and Military procurement practices. They simply changed the name to fool the auditors.

There is no money in the 24th century.
Just watch "First Contact"

That doesn't mean there is no "cost". Starships don't just grow on trees. Forget what they say. Nothing on Star Trek is possible without an economy. Little things like the Reliant clearly being a lower cost more limited range ship compared to the Enterprise. There are signs of their being some economic constraints and limitations throughout all of the series. It requires resources, energy and effort to build things. All three must come from somewhere, and there application is always balanced against something else.

It's possible that the holosuites are meant for long term stays but without the ability to replicate food. (hence Quark running up trays and doing the catering) aside from that it's potatoes patatas. Aside from that it's civilian non-fed tech name versus starfleet and fed tech name.
Why is resistance few tile? Sometimes it is apparently few til. But then if it's your duty to do a doody left tenant, make it so momentarily or however long it takes for a number two number one.

I will ponder it holding my propelling pencil/mechanical pencil/technical pencil/clutch pencil, one of which is a stylus hybrid whilst of course at its most basic level also being a stylus.

Then the presence of holosuites on the Enterprise-E is rather interesting. ;)

The primary difference between holosuites and holodecks is one of Quark's best kept secrets..... (It's actually just a spatula installed by Rom.)
