Did people cheer when Nimoy's Spock showed up?

There was some clapping at other moments, but not this one. I am seeing it again tomorrow, so i will see if they do it then.

I remember when INSURRECTION was out 10-1/2 years ago that even on the best, most packed nights there were few reactions aside from the laughs at lines like "boobs firming up" and the Worf Gor'ch(pimple) scene.

Hey I didn't get to see it until the Sunday 3pm showing and the theater was packed and they still went nuts when he turned around. Although I kind of thought the scene was just a little predictable. But maybe that was because I sort of knew how the story had to unfold based on the synopsis for the film, so I was expecting it. Mysterious stranger fights off the beast and saves Kirk at the last moment, on a planet that is supposed to be empty. Funny, it really reminded me of a scene from another Star Trek movie, but I can't put my finger on it yet. Anyone else get deja vu on this one???

When i went to see it i'm sure there was a sort of sighish thing that went around the audience, or that could have just been in my head.

There certainly was one dude a few seats behind me that shouted "That's a bit HARSH" at the same time as i thought it when young Spock did that thing to Kirk that ended in Kirk meeting old Spock.

Yes. A couple joyous gasps and, "Yes!" A light clap or two. There was crying nearby to, actually at the birth scene. And cheering and clapping at the Spock reciting "Space the final frontier, these are the..." etc. at the end. Many people watched the credits. Positive happy vibes abounded. Felt urge to buy Trek toys and dig up any trek stuff and put on display. Went to Burger King and got a glass and toy meal. Enrolled in the Kingon academy and recieved my certificate.

The weeping I heard came at the start of the film. Kirk's birth. His father's noble suicide. His mother's pain in giving birth.

Even Quinto's younger Spock got a lot of applause and supportive chatter in the audience. Spock of any generation seems to get the kiddies motivated.
