Did Janeway wear a wig?

Guy Gardener

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
We know Mulgrew wore a wig, but did Janeway?

It's a little insincere, and a touch vain for a line officer to take the time to culture a look which relies on pretending a hat is part of her body... For an actor I got no problem, but then you have to wonder if Kirk was wearing Shatners Girdle?

WTF? I don't get where this question is going. Yes, we know Mulgrew wore wigs and didn't wear wigs when portraying Ct Janeway. What specific question are you asking about that? BTW that was her real hair during Year of Hell 1 & 2.

Dude.

Mugrew while playing Janeway was forced to wear a wig to protray her character sometimes. From how you raised your objection, I know you already know that, and I know most people know that too, so my question stands...

Mugrew wore a wig(When pretending to be janeway.), but did Janeway(also wear a wig with in the fictional setting)?

Did the fictional character wear a fictional wig?

It's entirely possible that Janeway was wearing the same wigs which Mugrew was wearing during various phases of the shows run... Because maybe she liked wigs and she liked the look of them on herself. And for people that can spot even a good wig, well it's just another unbelievable notion to pile into the category of suspended disbelief along with Warp reactors and 12 toed morale officers isn't it?

As a man, I can say I was utterly fooled into thinking that was her real hair aaaaaaaaaaall the time. But then I doubt I considered if Jennifer was wearing a wig in the beginning too either.

Although... That would have made Janeway rather selfish when her crew were cutting their own hair off to make fire in Basics part two when she could have given them her wig. ;)

Post assimilation Janeway in UNIMATRIX ZERO possibly wore a wig. Or the Doctor stimulated hair growth afterward...and if they can do that, why is Picard bald? No real utopian future has involuntarily bald people!

You know that Kathy didn't like to be stimulated by the Doctor, who looked ridiculous in before and After when he wore a wig and you saw that hot immortal woman was caressing his scalp in Insurrection saying that it had been too long since she had seen a bald felluh, and to this day Picard's final words to Jason Vego, the man Jean-Luc was fooled into briefly thinking was his son, remain some of the most hilarious words uttered in Star Trek... "Well one thing is for sure, you'll never look at your hair line again the same."

I wonder if because of his love and admiration of Picard, that Data, if he had survived, had thought about programming in some male pattern baldness as a homage to his Captain?

Besides curing Baldness would be Eugenics, and we know how Humans feel about unnecessarily tampering with their genetic code, and after that theres that slippery slope to hell and all that, right?

Because if you can cure baldness, baldness isn't a big deal anymore. Regrowing one's hair would be like getting a tan or a manicure; some people would do it, but many wouldn't bother.

Actually, Janeway was one of those who donated hair to the fire cause.

I'd buy that, except in some moments Picard seemed bothered by it. Maybe he's just wishy-washy...or still has a streak of luddite in him from his upbringing.

It wouldn't require eugenics, as someone suggested. Hair restoration doesn't require eugenics now, just frequent applications and early treatment or plugs or whatever.

So we're putting it on the table that if Janeway was wearing a wig, it might not have been a beauty accessory... But she might have been Just as bald as Picard or Sisko since before Caretaker?

Picard was mostly fine with his hair, although what about Zimmerman? He was very unsure of himself trying to woo Leeta and ended up losing out to a completely baldman!
