Did Chakotay ever use the term "Spirits"?

So much fanfic has him saying that, but I don't remember hearing it on tv?

Was it ever said in an episode?

Definately. Specifically, he said 'spirit guide' a lot - one example that springs to mind is 'The Cloud', when he tries to let Janeway get in touch with her spirit guide.

Thanks, but I meant more as a "quasi-expletive"--like "damn," geez," etc.

"Spirit guide" is a totally different connotation from what I had in mind.

I think there is that episode where he has a hangover and say "I've got to cut back on those motherfodding spirits".

Not only that but wasn't the word "spirit" part of the prayer he said before taking his "dream quest" to his spirit guide?

^
Spirits of his ancestors, something like that, yeah.

I don't recall Chuckles ever swearing. Certainly no religious expletives.

Nope, he never used the expression on the show, and "oh, gods"--like they say on NuBSG--would be more appropriate anyway.

One of the things that has always annoyed me about fanfic.

What are you doing back here?

Little girl, are you lost? :D

^ There were a few folks that it was just easier to keep up with on this board, rather than a whole bunch of different boards. With starting the business, I need to be more efficient with my internet time... ;)

Welcome back to the board :) It's good to see you around especially since the J/7 board isn't around any more.

^ Like I said, it's easier than multiple boards... Especially since there's a BSG board here, and season 4 is coming up... :D

Good to see you, too! :)

Cool it's good to see another Voyager/BSG fan around :D

There's more of those fans around then you think. I like both shows too.
I like a lot of sci-fi though. I'm not fussy. As long as there's kewl 'splosions and stuff. ;)

Ok, that's funny!

With Voyager, I always got canon and fanon mixed up, an easy thing to do since the fan fiction was far better than what aired.

Welcome back, teya!

Yep, it's totally a fanon thing. In fact, the only time I can think of that Chakotay uses a exclamatory like that was in Scorpion I when he first sees the Borg cubes...and uses the decidedly singular "My god." I'd never really paid attention to it before, but after fanfic after fanfic using "Spirits" and "gods" as his exclamation of choice, it made me sit up a little straighter when I heard it.

It annoys me too, but I've had to learn to just tune it out because it's used so frequently. I wouldn't have much fanfic to read if I counted it against each writer who used it.

Tralis, between this and your post here, I'm seein' a pattern develop.

Consider this your friendly to stop trollin'. Keep it up, and ya will earn a warnin'.
