It is not that I'm rooting against "Star Trek"--which is the assumption of a lot of previous posters to this thread. I was rooting against any sort of recast or rebooted Trek, which to me is not and will not ever be, "Real" Trek.
I would honestly have preferred to just read new novels as they came out and waited, however many years it took, for someone to take a new stab at a fresh take on "Prime Trek". I'm still waiting for that, because I assure you that it will, eventually, take place.
(maybe not in my lifetime but...oh buggerall.)
Good thing it didn't because you'll not see another movie with the TNG cast again (they screwed themselves over with NEMESIS, and I mean they, Stewart and Spiner are actors, not writers. Stick to your first, best destiny).
Maybe in 10 years, after 2 or 3 more JJ Trek movies, JJ will be nice enough to tackle TNG.
