DEXTER Season 2

Dream

Yay! I just picked up season 2 tonight. I'm a big fan of the show. Looking forward to seeing this season for the first time. :techman:

Brillant writing and great acting from Michael C. Hall. It was really awesome when I found out that Hall was nominated for Best Actor this year at the Emmys. I'm planning to post my reactions to the season in the next few days.

Any fans of the show here?

I'll be getting it soon! Kindly hold all discussions for at least a week to give me some time to watch it!!! :rommie:

I already know it should win every Emmy its nominated for.

Season 2 is great but I think season 1 was slighty better but its hard to really say because the show is one of the best written and acted out on TV today.

I cannot wait for it to restart though I feel the show can't have really long legs but 4/5 seasons should work out good.

I absolutely adore the first season. I probably won't see season two until winter break this year, though, so I'll have to keep out of all Dexter threads until then.

I did enjoy the first episode of season one with a friend this evening, though. It's just so good. I wonder if season two (or three) will be able to top the first year for me.

I think season two is better. I had no idea where they were going with season two until I watched the first episode and I knew I was going to be in for a fun ride. I sat down and watched the whole season in two days. It was fun.

I loved season 2. I envy you getting to see them all at once. I had to wait a week in between episodes all season. Every show is a cliffhanger! Have you read any of the books?

I'm just waiting for my copy to be delivered. But I did watch the last 3 episodes of season 1, and the whole of season 2 within 2 days. I think season 2 is slightly better than season 1, and I can't wait to see where they're gonna go with season 3.

I doubt they will, but I'd like to see what they could do with the storyline of the third book, the disappearance of his "Dark Passenger" the ritual killings et al, but at the same time I think it would be a terrible direction to go in with the other stuff.

They're currently airing season 2 on FX in the UK.

I won't post spoilers, but can confirm that it's great so far:)

I'm watching season 2 on British telly at the mo, and I'm not sure what I make of it at the moment. I'm kinda gripped, a bit like I was kinda gripped at this point during the first season (I'm seven episodes in). By the time it had finished I loved it, so I'm sure season 2 will get me there eventually. I think I was spoiled by watching season 1 on DVD and then waiting each week for a new ep of season 2.

I just watched the first two episodes of season 2. The show is still good as ever. Thoughts.

The first episode was kind of slow but everything seemed to come together by the second episode. I'm glad I watched them together since it seem like such a two parter. Nice to see some fall out from the season one finale with Brian. Doakes is becoming much more of a dick but since he is actually the good guy I'm not sure who I should root for. I'm surprised that Dexter doesn't seem to have filed a complaint about the stalking though. For some reason seeing Dexter lose control and letting that tatoo guy get away from him really made me laugh. All I was thinking about that tough guy running around naked in tape at the in the middle of the street. Debra is still the weakest part of the show, but it could be that I just that I can't stand the actress. It seems like Dexter is babysitting her whenever she is onscreen.

So the "Bay Harbor Butcher" will be the main arc of season two? I had hoped that Paul would be around longer but I guess it'll be interesting seeing what will happen with Rita now that he is gone. Julie Benz is still very hot. The end of episode two was hilarious with Ritz thinking the reason for Dexter's suspicious behavior is because he is an addict. The thing I love most about the show is that is balances out drama and comedy so well.

I LOVE Dexter. After watching season 1, I thought, "There's no way they can top this. Nothing on television could be better than season 1 of Dexter." But I was wrong. Season 2 DOES. It's one of the very rare cases where I was NOT disappointed. The bizarre twists and turns in the second season build and build until you are wringing your hands in worry, and in the very last scene, you may actually cheer with glee.

Who would've thought that a show could make you cheer out loud for a serial killer?

I envy you for being able to encounter this for the first time. It's fantastic.

Today I rented the first disc of season one, watched two episodes, returned the rental and bought the whole season. I *love* this show! Dexter is like an angel living in a world of filth. He's what Batman would be like if the character were created today - no silly pretense about not killing anyone.

LOVE this series! Hall is outstanding as Dexter and the writing is superb. I watched Season Two in almost one sitting it is that good! Can't wait for the third season. :techman:

I also love this series!! My sister lent me her Season 1 set and I devoured it. Really excellent. I'm currently up to episode 4 in Season 2 via TMN On Demand, and I'm loving it so far. I've also seen the Showtime trailer for Season 3, and that looks good too.

I got this on DVD last week and have watched the first 3 episodes so far. I'm trying to space it out to make it last longer.

Obviously Dexter is in deep trouble after the first 3 episodes and I think I'll like season 2. But season 1 was really good and will be hard to beat - that whole relationship with Rudy/Brian was awesomely done....and it will be hard to beat the mixed emotions involved in The Icetruck Killer turning out to be who he turned out to be.

I think I'll also miss Christian Camargo's continued presence in the show. I thought he was really good, and I'd have liked for him and Dexter to have had more interaction after Dexter discovered who he was.

It was good to see him back in the first few episodes...but I guess now he's really gone-gone.

Okay. I've finally finished Season 2. Loved it.

SEASON TWO SPOILERS

I would like to say that season one was a little better but season two was still great.

There wasn't really much of a villain in season two besides Lila who I found very weak. The actress is very hot but I never felt she was threatening enough for Dexter to face. Also I've never liked the whole girlfriend is really evil and tries to fuck with the good guy's friends thing cliche. I didn't care much about the Dexter and Rita romance since they kept breaking them up and putting them back together again.

What propelled season two to greatness was the whole Dexter vs Doakes thing in the final episodes. The conversations they had in the abandoned shack was fascinating as hell since I think this is the first time Dexter really talked to someone about what he was doing was right or wrong. It was really hard to know which character to root for since Dexter's so likeable and all but even though Doakes was a really jerk he was still technically the good guy. I have to admit that it was damn statisfying when Dexter headbutted Doakes after all the shit he had to take for weeks. I will miss Doakes next season.

I really liked that Dexter confronted his mother's killer.

The whole Bay Harbor Killer arc was good but wasn't as strong as the Serial Killer vs Serial Killer arc from the first season. I never really felt that Dexter was in any danger from the FBI since the show would end if he was ever captured. I can see Dexter getting caught or killed trying to protect someone innocent in the series finale. I hope season 3 will focus more on Dexter's life instead of whether he can hide himself from the cops like in season 2 since I find that way more interesting.

I'm glad to hear season 2 is good. I loved season 1 and was a bit apprehensive. I'll be getting these DVDs rather soon then.

Loved season two so much--those of you watching it now are in for a real treat. I found towards the latter half I literally could not stop watching. I think I watched like 4 eps in a row and then saved the last one, but the suspense level was pretty darn high. :D I can't wait for season three!

Picked up my Season Two DVD set yesterday.

But I have to watch Season Six of The Shield first.

And maybe Season Five of The Wire.
